Strong, firm frame
I bought this frame for a large cross stitch project I am working on and I could not have found a better one! It is sturdy and holds the fabric well so it stays taught as you stitch. The grips on either side mean you can roll the fabric in as you work through your project. Came with clear instructions on how to put it together (they also provide links to their website where you can watch a video tutorial if you prefer). Highly recommend this frame for larger embroidery/cross stitch projects etc.

Terrific product!
I've done needlepoint for years, rolled up in one hand and working across the canvas. I was looking for a frame on which to work somewhat larger pieces, and an arm injury prompted me finally to order this so that I could work one-handed. Should have gotten a frame years ago, also for smaller pieces! I am a blocking pro, but my work stays aligned in the frame. If you've never used a frame, be aware that some slack I'll remain on the short ends. I tighten the work up frequently and use a Twizzler to adjust wing nuts. Keep in mind that a stitch such as Basketweave will be done over and under the canvas instead of just from the top side. A two-handed way of working, such as used in quilting, is helpful. If used on a Posilock floor stand (highly recommended!) the frame will jiggle a bit (not a problem, but just o you know).Somewhat difficult to "snap" the side pieces on the dowels so had to call in masculine help (who even with two strong arms has a bit of trouble wrestling it together). The good news is that there is no reason to dissemble the frame hereafter. For tips on placing your canvas, I found the review by Helen Mack on http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B0056HEL8O/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1 to be helpful. Also, I suggest using the clips wall-to-wall, tight next to one another to achieve the best tension. The two long ends of the canvas are snapped in and excess canvas (as well as the canvas already worked) is rolled up onto the bars, over the clips. With this in mind, you may wish to cover the clips with a fabric remnant when working on a delicate piece.

Good, well made frame but the plastic clips take a bit of getting used to.
This is a good quality, strong well made frame, very accurately machined and easy to assemble. The only problem is the system of plastic clips to mount the embroidery canvas. It can be quite confusing at first and the instructions are not very clear. Once you have the knack of it it works very well.

Very fiddly
This is the first time I've ever used a frame of this type and I chose it based on reviews. It seems sturdily made and the method of fitting the canvas straightforward. However I found it really fiddly trying to get the fabric straight in the clips and I'm sure there must be an easier way than faffing to follow the weft with the plastic pieces (which I'm not keen on). I got it done though and I imagine those who are used to the system have no problems. The wingnut fit seemed a bit strange in that the bolts have a square "neck" which would normally fit in a square "hole" to keep the bolt still when tightening the nut. There is no such hole in the frame although there is a countersunk circle for the washer and wingnut on the opposite side. I'm not sure how well that design will hold up over time....or the plastic clips for that matter. I think it's good enough for the amount of use I'll give it but if I was a very industrious tapestry maker I'd want something a bit more "professional" and better designed.

Right size
This was a bit fiddly to attach the canvas to. But once fixed it has been fine. It was the tight right size for my project. Well made, smooth wood.
