Best potato peeler ever!
Brought this to aid my wife. It's amazing! Use common sense and it will serve you well. Quick and clean. It does make a bit of noise, but no more than a blender, TBH. Don't overload it, trim off all deep eyes and it will give you perfect peeled spuds every time. A doddle to clean. Used daily and never given us a days problem. Would highly recommend. xxx

An ideal Potato Scrubber
This potato peeler is very good at what it does and it makes an excellent job of scrubbing new potatoes that are small. It does not peal potatoes and there are other devices that peel large potatoes so I suggest one of these for small potatoes and a different one for peeling them. It is very noisy but saves a lot of time.I strongly recommend it.

do not buy
The concept of this machine is very good. I bought it for my 87 year old father in October. By July it did not work. The motor had conked out.The reason I chose this one and not others is that I had bought one previously from another firm and the same thing happened. This one though came with a two year guarantee.Buyer beware, this is in effect a two year fictitious guarantee. I contacted the seller and said the machine was no longer working who then said to send it back and they would look at it. So far so good. I asked the seller for their address and a returns paid label who sent me their address but said they did not refund costs for returning goods. Why would I pay have the price of the machine in postage to send back a faulty machine, I would in essence be paying for it half again. My dad is 87 years old and can no longer peel potatoes himself. He does not eat a potato farm every day. This machine was by no means over worked, just rubbish. Do not buy...… and do not believe the guarantee which is basically voided by the seller telling you that you had to foot the bill to send something back which is faulty.

Doesn’t peel, but scrapes potatoes
I used to have a Lakeland one, and like the person who gave this a one star review, overloaded it, and broke the drive connection. User error, not product error. Most of the negative ones appear to be user error. Was gobsmacked by the “sludge” review. To clean it, pour the sludge away and rinse. Very easy to clean.Bought this as £15 cheaper than Lakeland one, and it is virtually identical to it. It does move whilst working, as some reviewers have mentioned, but I just hold it down. It scrapes, not peels, so if you are expecting a smooth peeled potato, you will be disappointed. Excellent if you are going to do roasties though. When you don’t overload it, it works fine. 3 medium potatoes in 1-2 minutes. My opinion obviously differs from others, but possibly my expectations of the product are more realistic.

Well worth it
The first couple of times I tried to use it, it just wouldn't turn on. The instructions aren't as clear as they should be and I think that could be the reason for many of the negative reviews. The problem was that the bottom safety button wasn't engaged properly. You need to press the bowl down quite firmly until your hear it click. Removing the bowl for cleaning is easy enough if you take it off at an angle, but impossible if you just try to lift it off. Once you've got the knack it's a brilliant machine for domestic use. OK, it doesn't compare with a professional machine costing £1000 (or more) but essentially it does the same job. I was put off buying one initially by the negative reviews but I changed my mind when I saw a contestant on a celebrity cooking show use one. She said that she had used hers for 20 years. I've only used mine a few times, but I'm really pleased with my purchase.

Not as Good as it first appears
First month this worked a treat & saved me so much time & hassell. Then just over a month after purchase I started to see a performance decline mainly with power & the motor costly starting to struggle & rapidly weaken. I did look into my warranty & still am at the moment. Problem is the item still works to a degree, just no where near as effective. Now I'm having to drastically reduce the quantity of potatoes from 5 to 3 with a reduction of water addition also & this seems to be working for the time being. Disappointing as the appliance & idea is spot on, but I think going forward the manufacturer needs to significantly strengthen the mortor , its power & robustness & maybe even improving of the grating bowel so that more power is not nessecary.

Served me couple of years.
Finally after couple of years of use the machine finally stopped working. I can’t ask more of it.Getting a new one, as it is brilliant and underrated.I would simply not be able to peel small-medium potatoes due to time consumption. Despite needing to clean the machine it is still a big win for me.It is not for everyone though. The noise is very loud indeed, I wear noise cancelling headphones. If you can quickly peal potatoes without it, then maybe you do not need it, except maybe for the really small ones.
