Q: Does it come with software & how easy is it to use? I’m a beginner in this and thinking it will be a great starting place with a half decent aerial.

H i no there is no software but there is plenty of info on youtube on how to install and use these sdrs. I dont know what your intrested in listening to but this sdr has a gap in the frequencies arround 1090 mhz so if you want adsb its not so good. I think your better off with the black version. NooElec NESDR SMArt - Premium RTL-SDR w/Aluminum Enclosure. the frequency range is approx 25mhz to 1700mhz. before you buy go youtube some videos on rtl sdr or nooelec sdrs have fun.

Very low sensitivity.

This product is much less sensitive than the other SDR products I use. I have tried different SDR software packages and numerous different settings as per NooElec support but still cannot get this product to work.NooElec keep asking for proof the product is malfunctioning which I have sent but it never seems acceptable to NooElec.It is a shame this product falls short of expectations as the other NooElec products I have purchased have worked very well.
