Better than a flashlight, and no batteries to swap out.
I charged this and did not use it for six months. A blackout happened in my neighborhood and I put this to use. The light was bright and stayed on whenever I needed it. The battery did not run out of charge. This is far better than a flashlight. It can be set down on either end or in the middle to point light in any direction. Very sturdy. This is a must-have around the house. No more tubular flashlights for me.

Excellent lantern
(Update, April 11 2025. This light has been great. I liked it enough to buy a second one for the other family car. Updated from 4 stars to 5.)I got this light for the car. I think it will be adequate for emergency lighting. It wasn't clear from the description on this page which type of USB port the device has. The light I received has a USB-C charging port. (When I put it as a question to other users I got different answers. The design must have changed over time, or else not all units shipped are the same.)The light arrived with a full charge in the battery.BUILDIt's lightweight. The plastic housing feels sturdy. The two end caps are surrounded by a rubbery material—the light won't slide too easily across a smooth surface either sitting flat or standing on end.One of the end-caps is on nice and tight. The other has a slight wobble. (Neither is removable.)ILLUMINATIONBoth flood and spotlight are bright even on lower intensity. The side panel light will be useful because it's also pretty bright.BATTERY CHECKINGThe blue battery-level indicator comes on when you use the lights, charge the device, or use it as a power bank.OPERATIONStraightforward: The button closest to each end operates the light at that end.Spotlight: Press once for high intensity, second time for low, third time for the side panel light on high, and a fourth time for side panel on low. Fifth press switches off.Floodlight: Press once for floodlight at high intensity, second time for floodlight low, third time for the red LEDs at that end (constant), and four times for the red LEDs to blink. The blink rate seems to be about four times per second. There is no SOS mode. Fifth press switches off. There doesn't seem to be a memory feature. When you switch on either light, it starts out at high level. You can operate the lights at both ends at the same time.** Not noted in the documentation: when the light is operating, press and hold a button to switch off without need to cycle through all the modes.CHARGINGI wasn't able to charge it using a power bank of the kind used for charging mobile phones. It seems to require a power "brick" plugged into the wall. The indicator is: blinking blue light while charging, solid blue light when completed.INSTRUCTIONS (English and Spanish)Minimal, but operation is straightforward enough. The documentation states incorrectly that the charging port is micro USB. As also mentioned before, it doesn't tell you that you can long-press the operation buttons to shut the light off without cycling through all the modes.CARRYING HANDLEThe handle locks loosely in place in three positions, including straight up for horizontal carry.POWER BANK FEATURESeems to work as advertised. The blue battery indicator lights go on as soon as the device to be charged is plugged in, and go out a short time after disconnection. To avoid draining the battery I haven't yet tried charging something as "needy" as a mobile phone.ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENTRed LEDs: in my opinion the manufacturer should add one more blink mode—the "SOS" signal.Battery checking: with all lights off, a long press of an activation button should switch on the battery check function momentarily. It shouldn't be necessary to switch the light on for this.Carrying handle: the manufacturer should incorporate a notch or slight convex area in the center of the carrying handle, so that the light would be easier to hang in a balanced way.Instructions: the type of USB port noted in the instructions should be corrected (in both languages). Instructions should be updated to include that a long press of the on/off buttons turns off the light without needing to cycle through the various modes.RATINGToo soon to tell about battery life or how long the light itself lasts mechanically, but I think it's good value for the price (especially on sale) and is worth 4 stars for now. I think I'll get one from my wife's car as well. Will update rating if circumstances change.

Great light for the money
Nice flashlights for the price. Bought 2 pack on sale and glad I did. Both near fully charged out of the box. Seem sturdy enough and light to carry. Spotlight probably can see at least 100' and other light options work well. Not sure if run times high, low, etc. Added a small carabineer clip to handle for hanging options if needed and put a 1/4-20 x 3/4" bolt since it has a threaded insert that might work for hanging some day. Needed one for work initially, but have one for home too. Think my grandkids will be wanting one or two for their cabin in the woods. Will probably order another pair of still on sale.

The best flashlight!!
This flashlight is exactly what I needed! The led side is great and that distance that you can see is so far. It laminates my whole yard and then some. The other side of the flash light is even further distance is viewable. The lantern setting is the perfect amount of light if you just hanging outside. Since I’ve gotten it I’ve used it ever since night. It’s light weight. I just ordered another one!

Super bright!
Its durable, and has a very good price. I also like the brightness setting and the red warning light. The battery life lasts as long as suggested.

Light cometh
It is absolutely perfect for an electric outage at night, or for camping in the boondocks- if anyone does that anymore. I am so glad I have it, having just had an electrical outage at night due to weather.
