Yes I believe it will help with a sore piercing inside your mouth. I accidentally got the gel on my lip and it numbed that nicely!

Q: Can this be used for braces and if not what other teething gel helps braces

I would suspect it works OK.. you rub it on the gums and it numbs them a bit.
