Field Compost Ltd Well-rotted Manure (Huge 1000L bulk bag!!)

This is an excellent product. It was delivered as arranged and is very well rotted. It is exactly what I wanted.

I tentatively ordered one bag. The delivery was super speedy and very efficient. My gardeners were really impressed with the quality so I ordered another two bags. It wasn't smelly, but was 'steamy' which is apparently a good sign!

Every aspect of my dealings with this company have been positive. Contact with them prior to delivery, delivery and the product itself have all been first rate. The manure was exactly what my gardener and I wanted - well rotted, weed and odour free. Would definitely order from them again.

Normally I buy my manure in 50 litre bags but it's not always convenient so I thought I'd order in bulk to save trouble - unfortunatelyI didn't think it through properly. Although the compost appears good quality - warm but odourless - it's actually more trouble. The delivery lorry didn't have a crane so the compost couldn't be left exactly where I wanted it. It took a couple of hours to take the stuff on a wheelbarrow to where I wanted it. Also I had to be in to sign for the delivery. Then I was left with a wooden pallet I didn't want and a large delivery bag to get rid of. The manure itself worked out a 9.9 pence a litre and it's about 8 pence a litre currently in other places if you buy 150 litres. My verdict is that it's better to drive round, brave the Christmas crowds and buy it in 50 litre plastic bags. On the other hand, if you like handling real manure, and value the exercise, and have an open fire on which to burn the pallet (after you've chopped it up) then this might be the way forward.

The manure is definitely not "well rotted" as advertised. I used it on my fruit trees (9 trees) and it burned the leaves on every single tree.I ended up using the manure on the grass but not the trees.

Great quality and a very helpful delivery team

This has been a disaster in my preparation of a cutting bed and a separate veg bed. It isn’t well rotted down and I have two plots now that are literally choked with weeds. No sooner do I dig them up but they are back again thick and fast. A complete disaster.

Nice and dark, no smell, looks good, nothing growing in the compost yet (were seeds in compost but may have been sterilised in the heat). If good, will definitely buy next year. Delivery guy was not particularly helpful so I would order again but insist the delivery company was different.
