Universal GD42/2M Snap on Door Guard 2 M - Black

It needs to be heated up and straightened out before measuring and cutting. It doesn't like to go round particularly sharp or acute bends in doors but a little judicious cutting/slicing (on the inside edge) will help it conform to the shape required. I used it on a Fiat 500 and a Honda CRV and squeezed a small ball of Blutack into the channel at each end and at particularly sharp corners to hold it in place at these stress points without being visible or damaging the paintwork. That's worked well as there's no sign of it coming loose. Good value, does the job well and looks good (on red cars anyway!)

I always put these on cars, after years of my children never being careful enough. You simply cut it to size and slide it on. Each length is enough for two doors, so buy two if you have four doors. I'd prefer it to be a little for flexible, as the ends tend to come away, particularly if around a curve, like at the bottom of a door.Well worth it to avoid the hassle of repainting.

I have a black C1 and this product was very quick and easy to fit. I would advise buying two packs as one pack managed to fit around two doors. The first packet has been on for over a month and no movement.With a very clumsy man and six year old it gives me peace of mind.

UPDATED MY REVIEW:Had these on the car for about 8 months and can confirm they are absolutely terrible. Whilst cleaning the car I noticed an area of the door where the paint had totally worn away. This is because the plastic (which is on the drivers door) is rubbing against the back passenger door as it is opening. Went round the car and saw that the front passenger door had exactly the same problem. The rear doors also had the same problem (not as bad) rubbing against the back panel of the car. I removed guard immediately to find the area it had covered was all scratched underneath. This is likely as the guard moves up and down whilst on the car. This is supposed to protect the car not damage it. I read plenty of reviews before buying this product, some thought it would cause the moisture to trap underneath, none mentioned anything as bad as this. Hopeless.--------Original review:Brought this for my new black CR-V. As some other reviews state it is best to heat them up with a hairdrier first to bend them into shape (especially as the way they are packed means you'll need to reshape them). They fit reasonably well, I had to cut in 2 to get round some bends but hardly noticeable on the car.

Stops my doors getting banged on the edges. Has a habit of coming off by itself in the breeze if you're not careful... Keep and eye on it. Could do with being a bit tighter fit or maybe it's my doors are too thin!

I bought this because on the edge of the car door was a tiny chip in the paint and my husband was worried it would rust,there's enough to put on 4 doors,but find if there's a bend in the door frame it's better to cut 2 pieces otherwise it doesn't stay on.When my husband was at work,his work friends saw this on the doors and asked him to order them one so we've ordered a few more.
