universal axe

Fantastic little axe which I use for chopping/splitting my waste wood/pallet wood, for kindling. Easy on the hand & weighted well. Nice & sharp and does the job well. A quality small axe to make your life easier.

I bought this after much mooching around the interweb. I needed a hand axe to climb inside a few trees and make some big branches safe. I already knew Fiskers as an amazing brand and I was specifically looking at a Fiskers axe. . . I'll say from the get go that this is a small-ish axe but it can easily manage bigger jobs than it's designed for! Some specs. . . - Fiskers have been going for hundreds of years - made in Finland - amazing quality - Just over 9 inches long - 480g - Fibre glass reinforced plastic handle in the classic Fiskars orange - Steel very sharp axe head - Safety sheath included I've added a few pics at the end of the blurb. . . Do not let the 480g/plastic handle put you off. The handle is very well designed and manufactured and super robust. No way it's going to break in normal use. As for the weight - it's absolutely spot on for what it is - a camping axe. Perfect to throw in a rucksack for outdoor use as well as for around the garden. In use. . . Brilliant! I knew it would be the second I got hold of it. It feels great and well balanced in the hand. It has a very nice 'swing' to it too! Small but powerful. The edge is very sharp upon delivery so it's ready to go out the box! Today I've started cleaning one of my 25 years old 40ft conifers up. There's s few big branches hanging out and bouncing around in the wind. They need to come off. I've been up inside the tree and stratigically removed quite a bit of the tree with this axe. Some branches were 4-6 inches thick. It took me only two minutes of chopping to remove the 6 inch ones. I didn't have to swing like a maniac either. Nice firm swings placed precisely made light work of the job. Thanks to the sharp edge. All this wood will not go to waste as I've started stripping them down and making kindle/firewood using the axe. We'll have a few good fires - nice food and a few beers thanks to it! This axe is a delight to use weight and balance are great and the axe is very very sharp as is always with Fiskars tools

I got this for bushcraft, and chopping wood for whittling. It was recommended by the bushcraft community. It's a solid axe. Feels quality. Good grip. It does everything you'd want a good axe to do :)

So I just got this axe and have tried it out. I can say it is sharp enough out of the box to do what you need but if you want a razer edge then you will need to sharpen it yourself. The construction is pretty solid and I cant see any issues that may arise at least not yet. My only negative point I can make is the grip is uncomfortable and it would be easy for it to slip out of your hand and after a lot use you will be feeling it. My advice is wear a nice pair of work gloves that give grip and a little padding. Over all the axe is pretty good and worth the money that is asked for it.

First of all I bought a Roughneck axe for 20 quid. It was not sharp, heavy & hard work to split 8" logs. As a beginner to log burners & chopping wood it felt a bit dangerous that that axe was so blunt. So I bought the Fiskers which I knew I should have in the first place. Always buy the best hand tools. OMG, this axe is so easy to chop those 8" logs now, it just slides through. Even when it gets 1/2 way you can just push down & it slices like butter - WOW. This AXE is safer because it doesnt bounce off or jam, its light & easy to wield so your arm doesnt get tired, it does a good job at splitting so it makes your life easier. Dont cheap out like I did, make the right choice first time.

Very well balanced and sturdy, blade stays sharp. Fiskars tools aren't the cheapest but definitely worth spending the extra

Ho comprato questa accetta (modello da 35.5 cm) per le mie uscite di bushcraft, per cui il mio utilizzo principale è spaccare tronchi non grossi (generalmente non più del mio braccio) e utilizzarla per sgrossare alcuni pezzi di legno da intagliare nei momenti di relax. È la prima accetta che compro e per questo, dopo averne viste un po', mi sono fidato delle molte recensioni positive. Non avevo nemmeno intenzione di spendere troppo, visto che non sono in cerca del prodotto perfetto o cose del genere. Detto questo, il prodotto in sé è davvero molto leggero, per essere un'accetta. Per meglio dire, il peso è tutto nella testa visto che il manico è in materiale sintetico, molto resistente e anche molto leggero. Questo garantisce di esercitare sufficiente forza sena avere con se un prodotto troppo pesante. Sono rimasto anche molto colpito dal fatto che arriva molto affilata, e non perde il filo facilmente. La uso da un mesetto, non ho fatto grandi cose ma il filo è rimasto assolutamente come appena acquistata. Un altro punto a favore è la garanzia di 25 anni (se non sbaglio) nel momento in cui si registra il prodotto acquistato. La parte protettiva del prodotto è costruita bene, possiede una sicura che non fa uscire il prodotto dal suo alloggio senza volerlo. Per una questione di gusti, probabilmente ne rifarò un piccolo fodero in cuoio, ma comunque trovo che sia molto valido. Per concludere, sono molto soddisfatto del mio acquisto, ritengo che abbia un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. La consiglio a tutti! Ricordatevi di fare click su “utile” se è stato così!
