Finding a good LED bulb isn’t as easy as it should be, especially if you want it candle-shaped and with the traditional UK bayonet fitting. Although these bulbs are far from the cheapest you can buy, I do think that they are the best I have seen as they give a good, bright light but in a perfect warm tone for use in the home. Instead of the glaring white or blue light it is common to find with LED bulbs these give a natural, warm light which not only illuminate well but also make the home look inviting. I have bought six of them so far and have them fitted in bedroom lamps, as well as wall lights in the living room. I like the fact that they are also very presentable when not switched on thanks to their attractive crystal design, and I plan to buy more for use in other light fittings.

A bright bulb, true warm white, however no way is this 40 watt equivalent, more like 60 watt - this needs to be stated in the description.

I've been using these in various fittings around the house for a few years now and so far I have not had any fail. The light is nice and bright, flicker free (even when dimmed) and instant.

I have 15 of these in my lounge. After 7 years, 1 of them failed. So bought this as a replacement. Matches the originals well, so very pleased.

I got this for a lamp specifically for it to be dimmable. It flickers and it has 3 settings when I try to dim it, off, very low and flickering and full brightness. I would return except you have to rip the packing open to get it out. I paid extra for it to be dimmable. Not happy at all.

Good product

I love Philips products and believe that whilst they cost more they are generally of higher quality and therefore work better and last longer. This item replaced a Philips bulb which we have had in a lamp for over three years, it was used daily as a lamp and the dimmer function was used each time to reduce the light. In terms of cost, I think that it represented good value for money as I hope this replacement will.

Perfect match to what it replaced

I hate long life bulbs with a passion, and generally go to any lengths to avoid them as they give off a nasty light which ruins my decor and ambient surroundings. At first I was hesitant but there was no need to worry. The light omitted from this bulb is warm and delightful, there is no "warming up" process, and flickering it's just perfect. Expensive initially but with 20,000 hours and running at 6KW it will pay for itself eventually. I intend to replace every lightbulb in the house with these high quality bulbs, high quality being something I trust Phillips for and don't mind paying extra for.
