Awesome reference guide
I love the book. I just wish it included Angular alongside React and Vue.

Helpful Companion
Not sure if I am smart enough for JavaScript, but this book has been a helpful companion in the attempt of learning. The book is written in an engaging manner and is easy to follow. I have encountered some typos and errors along the way which caused some stumbling. I guess in a way the errors have helped with the learning process because I had to figure it out.

this book is my go-to book for all things javascript
I am a retired hobbyist developer, who codes for enjoyment and to provide a deeper look into our finances. This book has provided me the confidence to work across full stack development; it provides starting points and more for the many different JavaScript flavors and tools, such as node.js, react, express, etc. The author provides context for how each fits into the overall JavaScript environment. It is my first stop for anything JavaScript.

A great review for a great book on Javascript
Javascript All in One For Dummies by Chris Minnick, A Review by Derrick W. JacksonMay 26, 2024This book is exactly what you need to learn Javascript. I like the fact that Chris dedicated an entire book (7 books in All) to Javascript Basics. I found that knowing programming languages like C# and Java, made Javascript understandable because some aspects of the Javascript language were similar. I also like that chapter on the Web Browser. Chris’s teaching style of tough, technical concepts is understandable and easily digestible even if I had to read it over more than one time. He is also very thorough. This book covers ReactJS also just known as React which was created by Facebook and is very popular. You learn how to build a React User interface. Vite a tool for build React projects is covered. Chris introduces his readers to JSX which is a template language for describing user interfaces. Finally, he covers building components. I must admit there was a lot that I did not understand. I’m doing my best to keep up, but I will need to review these topics over and over.Chris covered the Vue framework. This framework is similar to React. In this book, you learn how to build applications using components and html templates. This book is a reference book for the Javascript ecosphere if I’m using that word right. And he ended it with Node.jsI would highly recommend this book to readers who want to learn Javascript. It has everything you need to get going. Chris did not have to do this, but I recently read and wrote a review for an earlier Javascript book that he wrote. Chris contacted me and told me that the book was outdated and that he would not recommend it now because Javascript had changed so much. He mailed me the paperback for this book. I would have never imagined that a famous author on Amazon would have done that. I greatly appreciate it and this book is well worth the money that you spend on it. I give it 5 stars.

Essential Resource For Any JavaScript Developer
This book is for you if:- You are a beginner wanting to learn more about JavaScript- You are interested in frontend design- You are interested in backend design with JavaScript- You are a professional JavaScript developer who would like a resource for quickly referencing subjectsAs a professional software engineer, I appreciate the organization of this book. Need a refresher on Promises? There is an entire chapter on asynchronous JavaScript. Forget how to define a ReactJS component? There is an entire book's worth of content on React! This isn't the type of book to pigeonhole you into a particular JavaScript framework either; there are 7 books worth of content spanning JavaScript fundamentals to modern app development. It's all here, and Chris does a fantastic job of explaining concepts concretely and with real-world examples. I can't recommend this book enough to anyone interested in web development, JavaScript, and NodeJS.The only thing that I wish the book talked a bit more about was TypeScript, though that's a subject in itself.

This book is not for Dummies/Beginners
This book is not for beginners at all. The author makes things way more complex and confusing than they have to be.

Reseña
Es buen producto, el detalle es que viene mal envuelto, no trae su plástico protector e hizo que la pasta del libro llegara doblada, llegó a tiempo

I'd give it six stars if that were an option.
I bought this book because I want to use Google Apps Script, which is a Javascript-based tool, so some of the material in the book that is directed at website building is of little interest to me. However, the actual Javascript material is outstanding.Chris Minnick is a gifted teacher, as well as an experienced geek. He writes exceptionally well, introduces topics logically one at a time, and builds on each topic as he introduces the next one. I found myself reading parts of the book just for the pleasure of reading it! (No, he is not my cousin.) The book is a thorough primer on Javascript, including all the latest additions and improvements such as classes and 'thick arrow' syntax, and including many best practices. If you learn better from books than from videos -- as I do -- you will find this book thoroughly satisfying. It also has an excellent index, so makes a fine Javascript reference. There are very few how-to technical books that I recommend unreservedly, but this is certainly one.

Well Written and Great Value!
There are so many books on Javascript for beginners, it's hard to know which one to go with, and so many are ebooks. But I prefer a tangible book that I can hold in my hands, study at leisure, and read away from the computer. This is a very well-written introduction and includes extra chapters on React JS and Svelte etc. So many technical & coding books are overpriced and often less than 300 pages. This is a thick 800+ page tome for beginners which I highly recommend.

Bra att ha om man vill lära sig webbdesign.
Jag gillar att det är sju böcker i en ända bok. Men det är på väg att komma ut en ny bok html/css/javascript. Det är möjligt att jag borde ha väntat på den istället för den här boken.
