Not worth the money.
This started out looking promising but quickly faded. For a book about diorama building it has quite a large chapter on airbrushes and the number of different airbrushes the author has.In the figure painting section, we are shown how to paint a 1/16th bust!!! What this has to do with dioramas is anybodys guess. The chapters showing the step by step builds don't really show that much. The author, on a few occasions, mentions the great Shep Paine and his 80's book, How To Build Dioramas, and how it inspired him to write this one. Well this isn't a patch on the Paine book and I would highly recommend that anyone looking for a how to guide to dioramas, search out Sheps book and leave this one alone.Don't get me wrong, the quality of the work shown is first rate, but I think the author would have been better off producing a gallery style book showing his finished works and leaving the How To books to others.

Disappointing
Disappointed with this book. Very little in it telling you how to actually construct a diorama! Quite a bit from the author on how great he is at it though. Half the book is taken up with things like how to clean an airbrush and pretty worthless information like that. I love the way this guy tells you he made something, say a decal he downloaded off the web, but never actually says how how he did it! I wanted something that gave me some help on building a diorama; how to create scenery, what materials to use, etc. I'd also add that there's a lot of waffle in the text, may be that's because the author is American and that's his style. But it makes for a rather disjointed read IMO. So, in summary, if you want a guide to constructing dioramas, this ain't it.
