Excellent addition to the Tripp Trapp! Well worth the price
Well what can I say this is brilliant! We've had it about a week now and its been a god send. My sons toast stayed where it should and he eat better by picking the toast up from the tray. Easy to spray down to keep it hygienic too which for me was the reason we bought it.I don't take it on and off the Tripp Trapp as personally I think it would weaken the arms and snap eventually. So leave it on. Luckily our kitchen is big enough that this isn't an issue for us.Food doesn't seem to fall between the tray and the chair any more than other high chairs.Seems sturdy enoughVery expensive but lets be honest here we've all forked out for the Tripp Trapp in the first place which isn't cheap so hey ho to that one!Although expensive its built exceptionally well and a lot of craftsmanship has gone in to this product. I'm not sure tbh what I expected but when I opened the box I was pleasantly surprised at how well built this thing is.Annoyed I couldn't pay for next day delivery and it did take a while to come - was also left in my parents porch despite saying it needed to be signed for! No one did!!!!If you have been umming and rrrrring about this like me just get it, its well worth the money and seen as we are all invest in the Tripp Trapp you might as well just get it! Makes weaning so much easier!!

Excellent
I held off buying this because of the issues with fit (with the new babyset). In fact, it's not a problem. We took the front bit off the baby set, leaving the back support bit and then fitted the play tray and strap. It fits fine and there's no way the baby can kick it off.My almost-6-month old isn't sitting up unsupported yet (although he's pretty good with a little support) and he manages well with the play tray and strap. In fact it's a lot easier to get him into the high chair with the play tray than it was with the baby set - the plastic front of the baby set made it a bit of an ordeal since his legs don't seem to bend the right way.The tray itself is great - a high rim to stop things ending up on the floor, easily cleaned and a great size. The price made me wince but - as another reviewer said - once you get over paying £50+ for a bit of plastic, you really appreciate the tray.

STAINS extremely easily
Apart from the large gap where food is unfortunately constantly dropped and stuck, as well as its very high cost, the white plastic stains in no time at all! Having been made aware of this risk as per the note that came with the item, I wanted to ensure that this would not happen and therefore cleaned the surface immediately if anything that may stain was touching it. Despite these efforts it was completely old looking and stained after less than a week. One would think that this would be made from non staining plastic given that its purpose is for feeding and play. I would recommend getting any other colour option than white!

Great tray, but a bit pricey!
We received the Tripp Trapp chair as a gift complete with brand new baby set, cushions and straps. We soon found that we needed a tray as food could easily slide off our table onto the floor. We reluctantly (because of its price) bought the Playtray. However, I must say that it is totally fit for purpose and I am very glad that I bought it. Its ideal and I think Stokke missed a trick by not having this as one of its own extras. Now we can allow my son to eat in his own unique way without worrying about food spilling over the sides. It also makes the chair far more practical and portable as I can put things on the tray to amuse him whilst I do my chores in rooms other than the dining room/kitchen - I just bring the chair & tray with me. I think the price of the tray is commensurate with the whole Stokke pricing range. If we pay £30 for Stokke straps, then £50+ for a tray is to be expected (though not necessarily right - see my comments below). Its not just any old plastic either, it IS durable and very good quality. To put this into context: It is THE best quality tray on the market, much better than my previous high chair tray and when you buy it, you'll know. The gap between the baby set and tray has been slightly over exaggerated (IMHO); every high chair has some sort of gap between child and tray because they are designed to suit a wide age range. Certainly, the benefits of having the tray definitely outweigh this minor gap. That said, times are hard, and the usefulness of the product does not take away from the fact that it is still overpriced by about 20%-30%, but I'd pay quite a large sum to make my life as a Mum a little easier and this tray does just that.

invaluable product
I have to say that the play tray a bit on the expensive side but once you own it you can not live without it, i bought the trip trapp highchair about 6 years ago for my son who is now 7yrs, got it out of the loft to start using it again for my grandaughter,, relised that this time i had to use it in the kitchen without a table , it just didnt work for me i was going to have to buy a new high chair but really did not want to waste what i had because the trip trapp is easy to clean looks good and doesnt take up much room, so when i found this play tray i was so excited it really is an AMAZING and very helpful piece of equipment so hats of to this company for coming up with this idea, would highly recommend this company, their aftersales service is excellent, delivery good overall very very happy with product and company.

One start product, Damaged after 6 months of use (photo to proof!) 5 start seller
My son just turn one ,I started to use this playtray since he was 6 months old. Today the tray hook (the part connect to the chair) is cracked. I'm not happy with the quality of this tray as it hasn't been intensively used and it's broken after 6 months. It is a very expensive piece of accessary but did not last long. I have contacted the seller and they sent me a replacement straight away. I'm surprised that the seller responded so quickly and immediately sent me a new product given that I bought this product from them 6 months ago. I have to rerate this product, I would give 1 start for the product but 5 starts for the seller!!
