Complete garbage
Cutting cedar, one of the softest woods available and this bit snaps into several pieces with sparks shooting through my dust collection. Extremely dangerous, do not waste your time or money.

Nice little bits
I am a hobby CNC user and I needed some 1/8" bits for some more detailed cutouts I was working on. I typically use downcut bits for most projects but wanted to try a compression bit to see if it gave me better results. I haven't used these enough to comment on their longevity compared to other brands, but I can say they have worked well for me. If I am using 1/8" bits, I'm doing pretty light work anyway so I would expect these to hold up quite a while. It is nice that it is a 5-pack so should I accidentally break one, I can keep right on going.

Light duty
I've had a chance to use these in my small cnc that runs a spindle at 9K rpm at 75 watts. I've run them through mdf, plywood, and pine boards, and the results were varied. In all boards these bits left some fibers on the surface, and at slower feed speeds maybe a little less. higher feeds resulted in a lot of tear out, and in particular could not carve out small objects like letters in pocketing operations without breaking out chunks of the objects, in any of the boards. Generally this occured when the feed was set above 40 ipm with an offset above 40%.In plywood the bits seem to dull rather quickly, and while running in mdf, one bit broke. At the bottom of pockets the finish was smooth and didn't need much clean up.These bits I would consider light-duty, and if running in a larger project, might consider a bit change during operation to minimize tear out and fiber retention on the surface of the part or board.

Great for cutting out drywall
I am using these to cut drywall around boxes and odd shapes. I was tired of using the "for drywall" cutters that will break with just a little too much pressure. These work great, don't break, and last for a very long time. You just need to be careful around soft plastic electric boxes so you don't cut through them, but with a little practice it is easy to do by feel and sound. I wont go back to the other cutters again.

Clean Cuts on both sides of wood
As a DIY homeowner and woodworker, I'm always on the lookout for high-quality tools that can make my life easier. That's why I was excited to try out the HQMaster Up & Down Cut Bit 1/8" Shank Compression Bit Spiral CNC Router Bits End Mill Tungsten Carbide Milling Cutter Set 5 Pack.First of all, I was impressed by how well these bits fit in my Rotozip and Dremel tools. But what really caught my attention was how clean the cuts were when using these bits. Whether I was working on wood wainscoting or the back or side of a wood cabinet or bookshelf, the HQMaster bits provided a nice, clean cut.One thing I really appreciated about these bits was the compression design. This is the combination of both upcut and downcut spirals, which means that the bottom of the material is pulled upwards while the top of the material is pushed downwards. This eliminates the risk of damaging laminated surfaces and leaves a sharp, clean edge on both sides of your workpiece. In addition, the bits are non-stick, smokeless, and silent during processing, with smooth cutting and fast chip removal. And with their high-quality solid carbide construction and nano blue coat, these bits are built to last.Overall, I would highly recommend the HQMaster Up & Down Cut Bit 1/8" Shank Compression Bit Spiral CNC Router Bits End Mill Tungsten Carbide Milling Cutter Set 5 Pack to any DIY woodworker looking for a reliable and efficient tool.

Great for handheld Rotary tool
I used these bits with a handheld rotary tool to carve out extra clearance in the sides of drawers so I could install new slides since the old ones broke and were not allowing me to open and close the drawers easily. Since I don't have a router, 1/4 inch shanks were not an option for me. Since my rotary tool has a router attachment and takes up to 1/8 inch shanks, these worked well. They left a smooth edge on the wood and there were plenty of bits in case I messed one of them up. They cut easily and I didn't need to apply a lot of force to cut through the wood with these bits.
