The woven outer layer does an excellent job reinforcing the cable, and in a direct pull test, it withstood around 63 lbs of tension before showing signs of internal failure (phone started to disconnect)—far more than the average plastic-coated cables that often snap at 20-30 lbs. However, the real weak point isn’t the cable itself but the connectors. If you frequently use the cable at a hard 90-degree angle, particularly near the USB-C ends, you’ll start to see wear much sooner than expected. The strain relief at the connector isn’t quite robust enough to handle constant bending under load.Overall, if you’re looking for a well-built, durable cable that can take a lot of general wear and tear, this is an excellent choice—just be mindful of how you position the connectors during use. Genuine Apple products are always more expensive than they should be... I could have bought some generic USB-C to USB-C cables for half or even a third the price. With that being said, these are well made and work perfectly. Being on sale made the purchase a lot more palatable for me.

Worth every penny! It lasted longer than I thought it would and does exactly what it’s supposed to do! Who could ask for more? Functional, light, easy to use with a long enough cord that’s surprisingly durable. It’s not a braided material cord, but lasted just as long as those.
