I've read using the kindle app on my phone and tablet for a number of years but as I increasingly look to try and be less tied to my phone, I thought I'd take the plunge and go for a Paperwhite. I already had a good library of previous purchases and loading these was quick and easy. I love the ability to read at night and not strain my eyes, the functionality of looking up words and characters, the battery life is fantastic and the build quality is good enough while keeping a slim and light profile. I've had to travel alot recently and it's great being able to slip this into my backpack and carry a nice little library of books without the weight as well as being able to quickly purchase something on the fly if I so desire. I'm not fussed by the adverts though not always keen on the artwork of the book adverts themselves. Yes there are probably other e-readers with some fancy features that this one doesn't have but this is a light, portable e-reader with a great battery and access to a brilliant book store. If you're a reader you won't regret buying it

I wanted a Paperwhite to replace my broken Touch but did not want to buy it at a normal price so opted for a refurbished unit instead. Kindle came in a plain brown cardboard box, with a manual and a charging cable and not much else. (Sidebar: the box was way too big for the Kindle, it's ridiculous.) It worked smoothly throughout extreme cold and extreme heat and survived a few falls (in a case). The unit looked absolutely brand new upon arriving, no scrapes or scratches on the body, the power button was responsive and the screen was as well. Text comes on clear and you can make out the light bulbs in the screen but that's honestly a very small quibble in the larger scheme of things. It's an amazing piece of work, and the refurbishment was done excellently.

Being a bit of a dinosaur, it was always going to be a shock to upgrade from a 4th gen to a Paperwhite. After a few tears and tantrums at the beginning, I am now thrilled! Amazing price, great quality, and very simple to both set up and use. Would definitely recommend.

I like my kindle Ereader, this is my 5th kindle haha but this one is small and light and it as a light on it which is good, I wouldn’t buy anything else just a kindle happy I got another this one, I do still have books as well but when you have to buy like 6 books at a time or trilogy books in series I always think a kindle is best :) you can take it anywhere and it’s light weight and fits in your bag and you don’t ruin your books :)

it was a refurbished Kindle I ordered , it looks brand new , not a mark on it , this is the first e reader I have ever purchased , I have always loved the feel and smell of real books ,but at the rate I get through books things were getting a tad expensive and as Kindle books are cheaper I thought I would have to give it a go . well, I still miss the feel of proper paper pages and the weight and texture of a nice book but the Kindle seems to work well , and no more waiting for delivery of the next book in a series as on this once ordered it is with me in seconds, the adverts do not bother me as they are only on the front screen and do not get in the way once reading, it is light easy to read and I hope once I get used to holding it I will start to enjoy reading on it , ohh and I can put my book marks away now as on the Kindle there is no need for one , I read a while put the Kindle down and when I pick it up again and hit the start button and swipe the screen to start, it picks up on the page I left off with, if you have ever worried about getting one ,don't they are now cheap , the Kindle books are cheaper than the 'proper books' and they are stupidly easy to use .

My old Kindle e-book teader finally bit the dust after a long and well used life. I have now replaced it with this new model. It is slightly different the the old one (whether that is an advantage or not - the jury is still out. The differences are similar to the changes to Windows 10, they take a while to get used to) The screen is a vast improvement and the backlight is very useful for reading in bed or in a darkened room. Fortunately it is still easy to read in the full sun on my deckchair. All-in-all an excellent device.

The only problem with this item is that I need to find more time to sit down and read it. Yes, it doesn't replace a big colour book sat on the coffee table but it can go anywhere and work in every lighting condition. The best Kindle ever! Pros: Portable; battery efficient; it just 'works' as you want it to. Cons: It'll be a long time, if ever, before this or any electronic device replaces every type of book. It's far too easy to just want to buy (or actually buy) more Kindle books!

My second kindle, after the old basic one. The improvement is great. I was skeptical about the touch screen, but it's good and very useful if you use the dictionary while reading. The light can go totally off of you don't want it. The battery doesn't last month's as the old one, but weeks for sure (and I use it at least 3h a day). I brought a refurbished item, and it is absolutely as brand new. Highly recommended?
