Christmas gift for my boyfriend who was having an obsession with candles at the time, and loves playing with fire anyway, LOL. Works great, stays charged a good while. Very convenient for candle wicks, and works well on our incense sticks, too! Sturdy aluminum shell (case), buttons easy to slide and operate. Charging cord is VERY short (maybe 4 inches) and does not come with charging block, but no big deal (we have many!). You'll have to find a plug near something that you can prop the lighter up on.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I seen these come up when buying some camping supplies so I picked a few up and its been one of the best purchases I have made, they work great and you never have to worry about the wind as I was able to start a camp fire everytime with these.

No candle tipping necessary to light.Flip the safety switch to draw out the heating element then press the button to activate the electricity, light your candle wick, put back down the switch, and off you go! :) There’s no heat afterwards, that I’m aware of.This is such a neat handheld electric lighter. It’s been a terrific conversation piece too. These things hold a charge for several months!I liked mine so much that I bought five more of them as Christmas gifts. Everyone has remarked several times how much they love and appreciate theirs. (They are great tucked into an adult’s stocking, btw.)The charge has been more than 6 months, so I was concerned about losing the charging cord. To prevent that, I tucked the cord into a designated drawer and labeled it so I wouldn’t forget what it was for.This lighter keeps me from buying plastic lighters for my candles. It’s very useful, it feels safe with no weird issues, it seems to be made well.

Pro-I love the convenience of this lighter. Con-it stopped working after 8 months. It isn’t very expensive, so I will get another one. Will try a different brand though.

Got tired of hunting down the one lighter we had in the house to light candles, so purchased 2 of these. So far, so good!Pushing the power switch up has two simultaneous functions.First, pushing the slide switch up extends the tip from the end. Nice that it is concealed when in the closed position, no worries on damaging the tip, or bumping a hot tip against anything. Not sure how hot it could get, but it is plasma/electric and catches things on fire, FAST, so I’m not eager to taser myself!Second, it exposes the power button at the bottom of the slide switch. This means when the switch is off, or closed, you can’t accidentally turn it on.I’ve used it for a while now, and have yet to plug in to recharge. My only disappointment is that the two prongs are very close together, so I end up touching at least one side against the wick. This can cause some carbon to transfer and cause the prongs to get dirty. This can cause the sound/pitch to change a bit (by no means is it loud, but think of the sound of a bug zapper humming on a humid day) and the ‘flame’ goes from a pink/purple to yellowish until it burns off the debris. I wipe the end off after a moment to clean it. I’ve learned to handle the lighter lightly and focus on one prong moving towards the wick then slowly turn it to get it near the tip, give it a second and it lights up. Helps to also trim your wicks so you don’t have the giant glob of carbon ash on the top.

I use this thing repeatedly every week and it has never failed me.And it only needs to be charged by a usbc , extremely convenient.

I ordered 3 of these. One of my husband one for my dad & one for my bro in law. I got them for Christmas gifts. I had one that I used at a local shop that I worked at & I was so surprised at how often it came in handy. I finally bought a few. When I got them I took one out of the pack & messed around with it a little to see if it was what I expected. Turns out it’s great & I can’t wait to gift them to the men in my family because they are so hard to shop for! The price was great too!

Worked well but won’t accept a charge. It came fully charged and it lasted a long time so I only found out well after the fact. Unfortunately it appears to be a one shot item.
