Dexter - Complete Season 1-8 What can I say that hasn't already been said about Dexter already by the press and fans worldwide. This TV show is amazing and a must watch, a show full of great acting, great storylines and cliff hangers galore and a great constant dilema of doing bad things to ppl for the greater of good. The constant struggle Dexter has internally of feeding his thirst, whilst trying to fit in and show his face and keep up appearances to blend in and seem normal is a great struggle to watch. The dvd is great value at around £30 for all 8 seasons with rarely a bad episode or season amongst it, the boxset is very well packaged and presented and you know once you've opened it and began watching you've started something very special indeed that once over leaves you feeling a little lost. As a sidenote Dexter is being brought back for a season 9 many years after it ended, so my advice, buy this, binge watch, get engrossed in all the character developments and antics and once finished you know your fully geared up for Dexter's TV return. I have bought three of these boxsets. For myself, my brother and parents and we all very much love this show. Amazon delivery was on point each time also with packinging and next day delivery. Great quality, great show

Dexter Morgan is a thirty something blood spatter analyst working with the forensic department in Miami. A critical incident in his early childhood haunts him and he’s described as psychopathic. He’s an excellent forensic analyst, but frustrated with the inability of Miami Police to bring murderers to justice, he meticulously plans and dispenses his own form of retribution to killers. Constantly seeking to understand his own motivations, this is also the story of a damaged individual desperate to come to terms with his mindset while being able to avoid detection by living a normal life. Frustratingly for Dexter, it appears that just about everybody he encounters is also, in their own way, pretty damaged. I usually read crime fiction, so a boxed set was a bit of a departure for me – but I did enjoy the series – it’s not complicated to watch, the storylines are intriguing, usually fast and pacy, including loads of cliffhangers, the acting is believable with some great characters. Dexter’s sister Debra, a Miami Cop, makes Gordon Ramsay’s language sound mild. There is a lot of effing and blinding (mainly from Debra), and some rather bloody scenes – but while the macabre bits are gruesome, I didn’t find them unwatchable – the storyline doesn’t concentrate soley on making the viewer feel sick, but I couldn’t recommend this to those of a very sensitive disposition. This beautifully presented boxed set contains the complete series 1 - 8 of Dexter – each series is comprises 4 CDs, each CD contains 4 episodes, the episodes are around 40 minutes long, so there’s many, many hours of ‘binge watching’ here. If you don’t binge, the beginning of each episode gives a quick resume of what’s been happening in the series as a quick reminder, although I found the repetitive intros to each episode a bit tedious – I got the allegories the first time. What I would have liked, is more of the forensic science, there is some, but that's not what the series concentrates on. Well worth getting if you enjoy crime thrillers and don’t mind lots of fake blood.

The top picture gives one box set and the illustration gives another, I have had both these box sets and for space saving would go with top picture that opens at the top so illustration one that slides out of a sleeve and opens in centre I will be selling. Which box set you would prefer I don't know but I would say illustration would be most likely to become the collector one. I really enjoyed all the series but felt it was a little dramatic, I like reality drama's that keeps to reality as much as they can. I know it is hard to make a series and make it to real life. I feel this series lost its reality when 3 detectives become suspicious of Dexter and 2 of them where murdered. It is hard to believe the force wouldn't of furthered the evidence of the findings of top detectives, not only that there was all these killers going missing and the only evidence they existed was on a slide for a microscope, even serial killers have records and they where disappearing from existence and there daily lives and no one noticed, In the second season they called the killer the Bay harbour butcher and they knew that it was someone within the force and the detectives suspicions grow on Dexter, not does only Dexter escape but he also manages to turn the evidence around to frame the one blaming him. In serious 5 another detectives casts his suspicions on Dexter and the turn away from it because of the loss of his wife, then a third detective top of the force casts her suspicions, then when they finally work it out he manages to fake his own death and escape because he developed normal feelings. It was a funny finish and I give it five star not for reality but because of the interest it kept one on their toes, like one review said after watching season 6 he just had to get season 7 and 8 because it was one of those drama's that kept one thinking what was going to happen next? One of my best drama's was Breaking Bad because it kept me on my toes and this came a very close second, it is not expensive and gives hour of viewing and it got like I said five star because it kept me interested. I an sure Hannibal would of worked it out and would of helped the police to crack the case of the Bay harbour butcher a lot sooner and maybe without all the slip up.

Best investment I’ve made for a while. Great series, great image quality. Worked on my PC DVD player but not on my component DVD player because of location.

Those discs looked new but when you go to watch it glitch's or some of the discs won't play.
