Plusvive - Sodium Selenite and Selenium Methionine Tablets, 100 µg, 365 Tablets

The media could not be loaded. A few years ago I had serious problems with my thyroid, necessitating industrial quantities of drugs and radiotherapy to sort it out. My endocrinologist and eye disease consultants independently recommended I take a daily dose of selenium as it is essential to healthy thyroid function (who knew?). Selenium is found in trace amounts in a variety of foods (Brazil nuts are a good source) but to get a measured, consistent dose you need to take a supplement.I've been taking selenium on a daily basis ever since (eight years and counting) and I normally take it in tablet form of 200mcg strength, these tablets are 100mcg so for me it would be two a day, so how do they stack up?The active ingredients are clearly stated on the tub and the dosage is recommended at one per day - which considering there are 365 tablets in a tub, makes a whole year of supply. The online blurb says the tablets contain papain (a proteolytic enzyme used as a meat tenderiser and as a stabilising agent in the brewing industry and derived from papaya) and spirulina (a type of blue-green algae that grows in both salt and fresh water) 'for enhanced bioactivity' - this probably accounts for the greenish colour of the tablets. I'm not sure if they are vegan or not, but I think they probably are, there's no indication of them being anything else.My usual tablets have a distinctive garlic/farmyard smell which isn't pleasant but doesn't taste of anything. These tablets have a slight 'green' or 'seaside' smell but again no discernible taste. There is a size difference between my usual tablets and these - my usual tablet is pictured alongside for comparison.Price wise they stack up very well against my usual brand - £7.32 (as at 20 November 2022) for 365 as opposed to approximately £16 for 240 of my usual brand, which I tend to buy when on offer. The strength is half what I'm used to bet never the less these are excellent value..I see no reason to doubt their effectiveness, and I am more than happy to use them myself.

Selenium is one of the 7 supplements I take daily for my Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). Healing a fatty liver is very slow going, I had an issue with paracetamol and lansoprazole, cutting out the former completely and changing the latter to omeprazole helped a lot but my levels were still way too high and refusing to budge anymore. NAFLD isn't treated on the NHS, they only monitor it with regular blood tests and scans when necessary. I got a book from Amazon at the end of 2017 about how to heal a fatty liver and have been taking these supplements since the beginning of 2018 every day ever since then. I don't actually feel any better, but my bloodwork has improved massively since taking them and my doctor has told me that it is working so to carry on doing what I'm doing.These are medium sized, round tablets that are easy to swallow. I find if I push them right to the very back of my tongue and take a big drink of water then they are really easy to swallow, I don't even notice them at all and wonder if they fell out of my mouth, lol.I can't believe the amazing value of these ones, 365 tablets for £8.26 (at the time of writing). A full year should be more than long enough for anyone to see if they work for them. Of course, you might be like me and not notice any difference, but your bloodwork will, so maybe get it checked before starting these supplements. These are going in my Wishlist so I can find them next time I need some, not for a while yet.

These don’t smell great, but they are easy to swallow tablets. After reading about the benefits of selenium I thought I would give them a try. It is good for the thyroid and immune system. I like the fact that there are 365 tablets, so that offers great value for money. Apparently eating Brazil nuts gives you your daily dose, but if you aren’t a fan, then this is a handy alternative.

The tablets also contain papain and spirulina for enhanced bioavailability. A whole year's supply in one jar, representing great value for money. The packaging is secure, well sealed and well-presented. Selenium is a potent antioxidant which benefits heart, immune health and thyroid function. Selenium, which is deficient in many diets, is an essential component of various enzymes and proteins which help to make DNA and protect against cell damage and infections.

This selenium supplement is great value for a year supply. The capsules are fairly large but bot too offensive to take and no aftertaste. Great quality overall.

I opted to try this product as I need to use selenium daily (to alleviate oedema and thyroid health) and have purchased Plusvive products in the past and have always found them to be effective and of consistently good quality.I take selenium in the evening and avoid taking vitamin c supplements at the same time to ensure that it can be absorbed and properly utilised by my body.Generally with supplements it can be difficult to determine if they're working and may require several months for noticeable benefits. Not so for me with selenium as the immediate proof of whether or not it's working is apparent when I wake in the morning and I did not wake up with oedema after taking Plusvive Selenium which is hugely positive.The tablets are small, compressed disks and easy to swallow.The label is in English and German, however it has a peel-away feature which revealed instructions in Spanish, Italian and French.

C'est un bon complément nutritionnel, idéal pour mes problèmes de thyroïde et pour nettoyer le corps des métaux lourds, il ne m'a pas causé de problèmes gastriques, c'est une seule gélule par jour, donc c'est suffisant pour toute l'année. Son rapport qualité prix est indiscutable. Je le recommande.

Ich persönlich finde es immer schwierig Lebensmittel oder Nahrungsergänzungsmittel zu bewerten.Jeder Mensch hat einen anderen Geschmack oder eine andere Verträglichkeit. Dennoch versuche ich es mal objektiv:Die Tabletten kommen gut versiegelt beim Kunden an! In dem Falle handelt es sich um 365 Tabletten. Sie sind gepresst, rund und nicht beschichtet. Somit sind sie etwas schwieriger zu schlucken, aber dennoch durch ihre angenehme Größe gut machbar.Da ich von der Schilddrüsenkrankheit Hashimoto Thyreoiditis betroffen bin, ist Selen ein wichtiger Bestandteil für mich! Ich persönlich vertrage sie sehr gut. Täglich soll man eine Tablette zu sich nehmen! Auf der Verpackung selbst stehen alle nötigen Informationen auf Deutsch.Ich war tatsächlich erst etwas skeptisch, da der Preis von 9,67 Euro (Stand: 17.11.2022) für eine Jahresration wirklich günstig ist. Dies hat sich jedoch bis jetzt als unnötig erwiesen. Einfach ein fairer Preis für ein gutes Produkt! Bitte weiter so!Zur Wirkung selbst kann ich noch nichts sagen, da das bekanntlich eine ganze Weile braucht, bis der Körper solche Ergänzungsmittel merklich verarbeitet (Zellerneuerung etc pp.)Auch hier gilt natürlich: Nahrungsergänzungsmittel sind kein Ersatz für eine ausgewogene und gesunde Ernährung!Von mir gibt es also volle 5 Sterne ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.Ich hoffe, dass ich euch mit meiner Bewertung weiterhelfen konnte! 😉
