Hannibal - Season 1-3 [Blu-ray]

Good condition,great series

Spectacular show but shame about the lack of extras on the boxset. One of my favourite shows to rewatch over and over again (and I have rebinged on multiple occasions). Excellent scripts, actors, all of it. This show deserved to continue to S4 and beyond given its overhaul of the books. Definitely one of the best in terms of writing/acting/directing. Everything. Very unique style in regards to the visuals and music but it suits the tone of the show so well. 5 star all around.Mads Mikkelsen is outstanding as Hannibal. It may take a couple of episodes/rewatches to get used to him over other actors who've taken up the role, but he definitely brings something extra to the role and so far is my favourite actor to date who has tackled the role. I could go on about the actors, but the rest are still fantastic, they all bring something extra to the characters from the books and even the guest stars are fantastic.S1 Extras - 2 FeaturettesS2 extras - outtakes, commentaries, featurettes - quite a lot. I found it very well worth it for the extra content/background information the extras provide.S3 Extras - none.

There's some imperfections in this, some stretches in the imagination.But, there's also some of the best cinematography in a TV series you could imagine.I'm talking as good or better than Game of Thrones here.And there's also some amazing acting, I mean really, really good.Laurence Fishburne and Gina Torres's story arc alone is such a beautiful, tragic and painful thing to watch.I deify anyone to not be brought to tears.Yes, this is not easy viewing, yes dark places are explored, but this portrayal of the cold, calculating, empty heart of Hannibal is portrayed in dimensions that Anthony Hopkins could not do in the scope of the movies."Bowels in or bowels out? Out I think"

A fantastic series

Gets a bit too “arty” in the 2nd half of series 2, other than that it’s a good series, with some great cooking tips.

As most of the reviews describe, I obtained this blu-ray set because Netflix do not have season 3 up yet. However, the series is so brilliant that I could not pass up the chance of owning all 3 seasons. Mads Mikkelsen plays an unnerving yet friendly Hannibal Lecter, his moves make you unsure which side you are on, let alone his Clarice (Will Graham, played by Hugh Dancy).I would highly recommend this series to anyone who has an interest in Hannibal Lecter, or any of the actors (especially Mikkelsen and Graham). I thoroughly enjoyed this and wish there were more servings, yet at 3 series this is a filling series regardless.

Exactly as described and good value for money

The 5 stars is for the show itself which is stylish, intelligent and exceptionally well acted throughout. If you are looking this up, I'm sure you already know that it is quite bloody, and some of the images a grotesquely beautiful in a way. The seductive quality of the character writing is excellent and you can absolutely understand how people could be drawn in. The downside of this box set is the lack of special features for the later series. But the price of this is so good it still merits the rating.
