Really wasn't expecting this!
I saw this Model 1887 blaster in a YouTube short a while back and thought it was pretty neat how close it was to the real deal in terms of functionality. I finally decided to pick one up just for fun, and a bit out of nostalgia for Modern Warfare 2 (the good one). This blaster is actually manufactured by a Chinese company called UDL and they make virtually all of the dart firing firearm replicas you'll see on Amazon. Naturally, I wasn't expecting much since this has all the hallmarks of off-brand junk (sold under several different brands/sellers, broken English on the box and manuals, randomly has the Taran Tactical logo printed on it for some reason, etc.), but this definitely is far from that. First of all, the build quality. The entire body of the blaster is made of sturdy white plastic with purple plastic "furniture". The magazine tube, lever, breech, and bracket for the rail are all made of aluminum. The magazine tube and bracket are anodized blue, while the lever and breech assembly are powder coated gray. It is seriously nice, weighty, and it doesn't creak or squeak when you handle it in the slightest. I'm not even kidding; it's honestly better quality than the Nerf LMTD blasters - closer to a halfway decent airsoft replica. It functions exactly the way you'd expect it to: open the breech, load up the magazine tube by pushing shells down into it past the lifter, and then pop one into the breech before closing it - then you're ready to fire. The hammer doesn't actually function (even though it is spring loaded) and as a consequence, there is no half cock safety like the real 1887. Otherwise, it's very close mechanically. This blaster takes short darts, so regular Nerf darts won't work in it unless you cut them down. It's not a spectacularly good performer by the standard of most modern dart blasters, but it makes up for it by just being a lot of fun to mess around with. The loading and shell ejection is very authentic, and you can sort of spin cock it by opening the breech and flipping the lever around on your ring and pinkie finger. This is what everybody who owned a Buzz Bee Rapid Fire Tek or a Nerf Slingfire back in the day wished those actually were. I don't think this a great toy for smaller kids since it is kind of difficult to load and the breech is somewhat of a pinch hazard since it's under spring pressure whilst it's open - so don't pull the trigger while it's open and you have your thumb stuck inside it. But for teens, or just anybody whose a fan of the 1887, this thing a lot of satisfying fun.

Quality XM1014 dart blaster shotgun
It is a bit expensive, but it is high quality, really fun, durable (like decent airsoft gun level), is really freaking cool to look at, has decent range for a dart blaster, The trigger is amazing. It can jam a little bit, but that's nothing you can't solve with a little bit of jostling of the pump, and actually that kind of adds to the feel of realisticness I guess you could say. That is to say it functions really well, and when it doesn't it's easy to fix. Haven't used it much beyond dry firing yet, though I have some ideas of using it as a breaching shotgun in airsoft. If you've got a few extra dollars that you don't really care about go ahead and grab it, hasn't failed me yet. It's only been a day that I've had it, so I'll update if anything happens.

Very well built
Overall build quality is great, though the charging handle needs to be reworked as it does not attach well and falls off instantly when looked at. The rest of the nerf gun is great though with above average built quality and dare a say one of a kind product in function and form. kid loves it.

Really well made, no jams
This is an upgrade both in quality (and price) from even the most elaborate nerf guns! Several parts are actual metal and the plastic parts are heavy duty. The bullets do not jam in the gun. Bought this for my 10 year old son and he loves it.

Fun toy gun
This gun is a fun one for my son. The size is pretty good, the durability is great, it looks great, the bullets shoot far out of it and it’s a great value for the money.

Jams constantly, broke
At first we were very pleased with this blaster. It seems very solid and well made. However, from the first use we had problems with it jamming and it jams constantly. Now, three week into use, the rods inside have separated and it is now useless. I’d expect that from a cheaper, plastic version, but we expected so much more given the high price. UPDATE: March 2023 - this thing is just junk. During normal play today the inside piece broke in half so now this is worthless. After seeing other reviews it appears this is common. I cannot believe I spent $80 on this.

Not worth it, don’t buy
The gun looks really good and works most of the time but it has jammed about 6 times already and i just opened it. Besides that the gun shoots decently hard and satisfying. The ejecting shells are also satisfying. The darts that came with it are horrible, the tip for 5 of them already fell off. But i found out the x-shot half darts shoots just fine in this gun. The handle is extremely uncomfortable. I don’t recommend this gun at all the price is way too high for this product to act like this.

I’m a real Stoeger M3000 owner and I find this toy a delight for what it is intended to be. Matched with automated nerf target device, it’s just as fun at home as steel plates on the range. Hilariously, I didn’t even realise you can load the tube magazine. It can be loaded from the bottom, like a transitional lever action and it takes some practice.. pretty hard for kids, but I can fill the tube relatively easily after 3-4 tries.. if you use a finger from the bottom to push down the spring and feed into the action, works well enough. Rapid fire delights. Not sure if max rounds in the tube - tonight I put in x5 shells and works a treat. What a great little device!
