A godsend. If correctly used doesn't go through lots of sanding sheets!!
My old B &d multisander finally died after many years of much use, right in the middle of a huge project of sanding the stairs, doors, skirts and architraves in the hallway. I really only use the orbital sander so decided to go with just one of those. For other things like fine detail or tricky areas such as furniture renovation I hand sand.I noticed a lot of the reviews criticised how quickly the pads came unstuck. I know that this is mostly down to people misusing and pushing down hard on the sander instead of gently guiding it and letting it do it's job so I wasn't worried. On vertical surfaces it did come unstuck but once I turned the power down to 4 from 6 and it was perfect, no loss of discat all.My first impressions were how much more powerful it is and very easy to hold and guide, it's perfectly designed for this. The second thing I immediately noticed was the plastic sawdust collection tray is better than fabric so I wasn't covered in sawdust and neither is the whole house. Overall I can honestly say it's been the best buy in ages and after a few minutes the difference in the stairs that were sander by my old sander and this was clearly noticeable. I may actually finish for Easter instead of next Christmas. I would say though my old one is out dated and has had a lot of use. I use a sander a lot as my hobby is furniture building and renovation and this has been a godsend.I haven't used the sanding sheets that came with as I only use Klingspor which I find to be better. Their 40 grain white discs sand down metal, perfect for staircase renovation as they don't shred when hitting nails. This sander works perfectly with those, even the vent holes match up.I would highly recommend this product even over the better known and more expensive models made by other companies.

Broadly good, but awful velcro pad
Electrically and mechanically, this has been great. However, the velcro pad that holds the sanding discs on is inexplicably dreadful. I've given it a fair amount of use (I've sanded most of a floor with it), but every sanding disc I've used has come away from the sander long before the sandpaper has worn out, because the velcro is so awful. They've also come away with a few of the the velcro hooks attached to them each time, so the problem has become worse to the point where the sander is now useless (I don't have high hopes of obtaining spare parts!). So, I'd consider this a great tool for a small number of small jobs, but useless for anything large, or for frequent use. It's a real shame, as the motor etc is still going strong, but a sander that won't accept sanding discs is nothing more than a rather ugly paper weight.

Brilliant little sander
Im super impressed with thisI was sanding my kitchen wall because its a bit uneven and very rough in places.Iv always wanted to do it myself as watching proffecinals do it looked fun haha. Its very easy to use and the disc just velcro on and away you go.The discs didnt last long for me but i do think that does depend on what your using the sander to sand down.As in the rougher and bigger the surface the quicker they get used but the smaller the surface they will last alot longer.

Better results than my branded sander
I bought this as my old one had broken ... It was a branded product and cost a lot more than this replacement.Although this cost substantially less the results it gives are far better!!It has variable power settings using the dial on the side. I love that it also collects the majority of the dust in the removable container.Coming with 12 discs too it'll keep you going for ages! Why pay more?

Great Piece of Kit for Domestic Use
Without wanting to invest big money, I wanted to buy a sander to expand my armoury of home DIY tools.I noticed that the Tack Life Random Orbital Sander seemed to be affordable and to already have good reviews, so I bought one. Straight away I was impressed with it's user friendly design and functionality. The Tack Life is comfortable to hold and the dust collector works as well as any sander I've seen in action before. The maximum of the 6 available speeds works really well, I am sure the other speeds also work, but I was in a hurry to get the job done! The sander comes with a couple of sets of different grade sanding pads, which I was happy with. This is a great sander; I need nothing more. I am very happy with this purchase, it gets the job done with change to spare..

Great little sander
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This little ROS is fantastic. I have started doing several refinishing projects around the house and needed a good sander. This thing fits my budget. It is easy to use, comfortable in my hand, and doesn't shake my arm to the point that I feel fatigued after I use it on large items. The dust collector does a decent job of minimizing the dust from sanding as well. Sometimes I do some of my less intense sanding inside my house and this has made that possible without a total mess. There's still some dust in the air but nothing like there would be without the dust cup catching most of it. Very pleased with this purchase.

works extremely well
This is a great little powerful sander. I used it on a pine table top that was in a really poor state. I used one of the grade 80 discs included with this machine and set the speed to the number 3 setting. This setting was quite sufficient to do a really good job on this table top. I finished with a grade 180 also supplied with the machine, and this brought this table top back to how it should look. All with very little effort. No pressure is needed to be applied, just let the sander do the work. A really first class product this and well worth the money, and also a typical on time delivery by Amazon.

Too heavy for sanding vertical surfaces
I haven’t even tried it but am returning it. I am sure that all the positive reviews are highly justified but, unfortunately, it doesn’t suit my needs. I have small hands and the device is quite heavy and, unlike some other makes, it has no side handle. None of these would be a problem if just sanding items on a workbench. However, I wanted to sand a number of doors and it would have been too heavy and awkward for me on the vertical surfaces.
