2 x Scratch Shield Car Wash Bucket Filter Grit Guards Black

A simple but effective addition to your bucket when cleaning the car or other surfaces where dirt is transferred back into the bucket. These are easy to install and provide a decent space in which any detritus will sit, rather than being picked back up by your sponge and potentially scratching paintwork or glass. These were far better value than those I had seen elsewhere and feel solid and durable.

Not the greatest fit in the buckets I use (Wickes Builders) but they still sort of do the job & are pretty simple to adjust. Make sure you remove them before emptying the buckets though or they will fall out. They also have a tendency to continually fall apart & this aspect gets very much worse after a few weeks. This is a revision of my earlier 4 star review as I hadn't realised just how bad this problem of falling apart would get, but it's so bad that these are a little hard to recommend. Good idea but surely someone must make a better quality product than this

Although these are designed to fit many types of bucket, the fins or legs that are adjustable keep falling off especially when the grids float in the water. When you come to empty the dirty water out your bucket, the guards fall out and the legs fall off again. They are just hard work!

Depending on your bucket, these will either fit perfectly or (more likely) fit sort of ok. I have two buckets and one it fits just right (nice and tight and no movement) and the other where it stays in place, but if you tip the bucket upside down, they will fall out.I do think these are worth having because have noticed my wash bucket remains cleaner, rinse bucket appears dirtier and the wash mitt doesn't appear to hold any grit.I imagine you can trim them where they don't fit perfectly to get a good fit but not that bothered to do so.

Found that these perfectly fit all my £1 builder buckets, not paying silly money for a maguiars bucket unless someone can provide me with a reason not to use my old faithfuls. Solidily build, love the adjustment design & haven't found them to float or fall apart to date. So happy with my purchases I bought another one!

Works well but, be aware, they do have quite a large diameter and so fit well in the large, low, black builder's-type buckets. They are not so good in the taller, thinner size of buckets more common as household buckets (indeed, won't fit without forcing or trimming).

For anyone who knows anything about washing cars, you'll know the two bucket technique is the only proper way to do it. And if you're going to really do it right, you'll need two grit guards. Easy to assemble and fit in a normal size bucket. They don't 'wedge' in as well as I'd have hoped and move around a fair bit so constant readjusting was needed, but still able to wipe the fibre mitt I use on them to remove any grit. Could be better but still a lot safer than any hand car wash place or worse still, garage car wash.

Easy to put together. Allow decent space to collect grit in bucket but not too high to stop practicality. Bought two, one each for bucket as clean and separate soapy water. Haven't used enough to test durability yet
