L’Oréal Excel Hicolor HiLights Magenta

Use this dye to get my hair a nice red / burgundy colour from black and it works well every time.

This is really good and the colour is really bright, you don’t need bleach at all even if your hair is black or dark brown. The red lasted in my hair for about 2 years (since 2022 and it’s 2025 now, and there’s a little bit left to fade). Would highly recommend if you don’t want to bleach your hair and want a bright colour without lots of chemicals and processing

I had dark brown hair and gave me a fantastic colour, you do need to use a cream developer. I used the Clairol Professional white and worked a treat.Would like to try other colours with this to give it some more tone.For something you can do at home, great piece of kit to use and save you loads of money than a salon.Received many compliments so far.

Used this with 30% activator on my naturally dark hair and was super pleased with how the colour turned out. Received many compliments and the colour looks stunning in both dark and outdoor lights as seen in the photos.The only downside is the colour does wash out with every hair wash (if you’re washing your hair multiple times a week, the colour will fade out in a month). But for the cost I think it’s better value than paying hundreds at a hair salon.

So I have Been dying for 25+ years but I have only used off the shelf packs! This was completely new to me buying a colour and developer separately, plus I miss gloves and a bottle to apply it with! I colour stripped my hair as I had previously been dark purple. Left my ginger blond look for 48 hours then applied this colour. I used the colour b4 bottle so it was easier to mix. Added the colour to the bottle and topped up to about 3/4 full with 40% developer. Gave it a shake and applied. I have short pixie cut hair so 1 tube was more than enough. Covered my head in a carrier bag and gave it 25 mins. Rinsed, conditioned and styled as normal and I'm amazed by the colour!It's a very pinky red on me, kinda cerise. Left my hair nice and soft. Was alot more messy than other brands that you buy off the shelf, and I guessed the developer measure! But overall for my 1st attempt at this type of colour it went really well. Used nail varnish remover just to clean up my forehead of colour but be careful! It can sting a bit! Will be buying a 3 pack to keep it topped up I think. Just hope it doesn't wash out too quickly!
