does this work on thick hair thats hard to curl

I'm sure it will. my hair is not thick but it is not thin either and when i use the chopstick the curl lasts for up to 4 days!!! its great if you want a tight curl. better than any wand or curling tong! because its so thin you can even use it on short hair and the end of it is cool so you don't burn your fingers!!!

How long does it take to heat up and how can you tell when it's heated up?

Gets up to full temperature after about 2-3 minutes, but is hot enough to use after 1 minute. There is no indicator light for when temperature is reached.

yes this product does work great on naturally straight hair. my hair is naturally straight it works great the curls last for 3 days!!! if you want corkscrew curls buy this i love it. its quicker than other wands or hair curlers, and the tip is cool you can hold the ends of your hair on it without gloves!!!

Can the wand and base be detached? Seen a few lee Stanford ones that I like
