Q: I have just bought one of these and i was wonder how best to fix it should i install with the back plate cut into the work bench so ot fits flush

Its your choice. I mounted mine with tne back plate on the bench. Dont forget to fit hard wood face plates on.

Q: what thickness bench required to fit?

(it goes under the bench). My bench was about 5cm (2" )thick. the vice needs about 2-3 cm more. so I added at the bottom of the bench a small wood plate in order to increase the table thickness in the position where I added the vice. So now the top face of the vice is at the same height as the top face of the table. If you need exactly the thickness I can go and measure it.

Q: What thickness of bolts to secure to workbench?

Just checked my vice-as far as I can see I used No.8 screws.Hope this helps.
