Best one for European Portuguese
My Portuguese teacher (from Portugal) pointed out that my Collins Portuguese dictionary covers principally Brazilian Portuguese, so as I aim to learn both versions I decided to get an Oxford dictionary as well. I have a Brazilian language-swap buddy, and Duolingo emphasises Brazilian though it aims to cater for both. It's also handy not to always go and fetch one from another room every time I decide to do a little language practice.

Useful for convenience, but limited
As a beginner in Portuguese, if I can spot errors and get frustrated at some everyday words not being in... hence three stars - perhaps a bit picky as I have relied upon the dictionary a lot to check pronunciation and it has 95%+ of the vocab that I am currently learning. Falls a bit short at explaining everyday phrases, e.g. when a single word literally translated renders a different meaning when used in a particular phrase. Others on my course have plumped for Collins, and they have been studying for longer. Read into that what you will.

Affordable
I had one at home but I gave it away to my niece as she needed for secondary school so when I had it helped me translate the words so I had to buy again and no one it taking it this time
