Small size, subtle effect, perfect for removing that excess ring
So many good reviews I had to try them out and I'm suitably impressed. You get 6 of these little sticky pads in a tub. I had a nightmare trying to separate them out, they were so tightly stuck to each other. I thought I was going to tear them to pieces getting them unstuck, but they proved far more resiliant than I was expecting. Plopped one on my snare, one on each (of 3) rack tom and two on the floor tom. At first they didn't seem to want to stick down that well, but they haven't moved in over a week, so I guess it just took a few minutes for them to get used to their new homes. They certainly took out some of the excess ring, but they're more subtle than I thought they'd be. Certainly more so than the old favourite trick of TP and duct tape. My toms are pretty well-tuned and so these are ideal at just killing that little extra ring I couldn't quite get rid off. The toms make a nice pleasing round tone now, which is especially noticed when recording. If you need more dampening than what these provide, I'd suggest your drums ain't tuned that well! The best thing for me is their size - they're really quite small, only 1½" x 1", so they take up very little real esate on your drum head, so you still have lots of choice as to where to hit your tom. They do seem quite good at collecting sawdust and dandruff, but they're washable so that shouldn't be a problem. I wasn't sure how well I'd like these, but they do the perfect job and at this price, it's a no-brainer really.

very good indeed!
well, there's not 4 in the pack but 6 - so there's enough to dampen both heads on all 3 toms!! very lovely effects acheived very quickly and easily! VERY sticky....i was worried that they wouldn't seperate - but they did just fine! ...easy to cut into smaller pieces if desired (use scissors!) i have acheived the sound i've been looking for - at last! I took my time in setting them up, ended up sticking them to the inside of each head - out the way and beautifully effective! Highly recommend. 5 stars! ...one happy drummer :D

These are definitely the best things you can get though
Some tips for use: putting one equidistant between the centre and the edge cuts out the 2nd harmonic and is the most effective. Moving closer to the edge lets in more of the 2nd harmonic and starts to dampen the higher ones. But use your ears, experiment, and move them around. Also, cutting them into smaller pieces works well on drums where a whole one makes the drum too dead. These are definitely the best things you can get though. The reason they work so well is they are higher mass, smaller surface area. Whereas tape, tissue, etc have too much surface area and not enough mass. So essentially the moongel doesn't really affect the sound of the drum at all when placed correctly - it just shortens the note. You don't get the "dryness" in the sound that you get from gaffa tape or tissue. That's why I love these.

Bought this moongel for my phantom 3 standard to combat the dreaded "jello" effect...
I purchased this pack of moon gel for my phantom 3 standard to combat the dreaded "jello" effect in my videos. I had recently damaged my gimbal vibration absorbing board, so when installing the new one, I thought now's the chance to try out this product. This gel is supposed to work wonders eliminating unwanted resonance with instruments, and its relatively cheap stuff. The substance is really easy to work with, and I cut a few pieces with scissors to fit the shape of the board (see pics). In use, I think the Moongel did make a difference, it didn't eliminate the "jello" effect 100% but it did improve my video footage. I should add that I did balance my props and I did put some of the remaining gel inside the rubber dampers. I've got some ND filters on the way, so I'm hoping that's the final fix.

Excellent product, highly recommend Moongel Pads.
This is the second set (I have another spare set) of these I have bought, and they are fantastic. Simply put one on the tom tom skin near the rim and they cut away all those unwanted overtones! Being a gigging musician, I have found them so useful for quick fixes to your sound if you find yourself playing drums in a small venue or a room with echo issues. They do get dusty due to drumstick shedding, but you just wash them in warm water and they come back sticky again. I would say My pot of Moongels has become as important as remembering to take sticks. Love them, and I can't recommend them highly enough. Simple, easy to use for pro's or beginners - gotta love that. :D

all drummers must have at least one pack
these are a must for any drummer. even if there are times when you may not need any, as soon as you want to muffle a bit the overtones, these are the perfect choice. in some occasions I also placed them on cymbals to reduce an annoying sustain: worked perfect. the possibilities are endless and the price is ridiculous. not to mention that they are endlessly reusable. what else? buy them, without regrets!

Not for music, for a computer fix.
I had a rattle in my case "Aerocool 6th Element Mid Tower Gaming Case with White LED Fan - White " and it was driving me insane to the point that I took the side panel off so it wouldn't vibrate as much. It was because the window on the side panel wasn't snuggly secured to the frame therefore when the fans were spinning up they'd make the panels on the side rattle... and not just a little (as if I'm being petty) I mean really loud as if it was going to take off. So I bought the gel as my boyfriend recommended. His friend is a drummer and he had seen the pads on his drum kit and asked what they were. It made sense to "dampen" the sound on drum kits.... so why not my computer. In the end I used it as almost a filler to bridge the gap between the window and the frame on the side panel. It sounds completely normal now. No rattling. Thank you Moongel :)
