This is a quality product and will last a lifetime. It only uses cm and mm, which I like because I was taught metric in the 1960s and prefer it. The small holes allow me to accurately draw lines or mark a point. I am tired when I work of judging it because I am seeing from an angle and then finding I am a millimetre or two out. There are many other features built in which I will discover as I use them. The size is perfect. It will work well with work done on a portable bench for instance. Now, I wonder if they sell smaller ones to add to my collection, say 30cm and 10cm. I would also like to see them put this scale, with holes, on the top of a hand saw which until now was my big set square.

When making the Cabernet i was making, handy for marking out for screw holes makes the drilling for screw nice and neat (nothing looks worse than screw heads all over the place) although the hole in the rule are a bit small so make sure your pencil is good and sharp. Also use the protractor in marking angles for cutting, nice idea it being on the rule so if needed no having to go on a hunt for one around the workshop. The only gripe (and it's a small one) is i wish it was say 450mm long as this would have been more helpful for myself but not a major problem. So far it's stood up to life in the workshop but the paint has scratched, but no (as yet) sign of rust or peeling so again no probs. All in all great for it's purpose would give it 5 stars if it was stainless (and bit longer) but that's just me.

Nice unit. Surprisingly it has some weight to it which feels nice when squaring off a piece of wood. There isn't much flex in the steel which is also a good thing. When I matched it up to another square I found it wasn't quite at 90 degrees. Now if you loosen the 2 bolts holding the plastic base to the square you will see there is a little bit of play there. What I did was hold the plastic up against the square and retightened the bolts and then found the square was now at 90 degrees. Maybe when it comes out the factory, the bolts are done up and that's it. I guess every now and then I will have to just check. For the price it's a good square that will need some looking after.

I find this far more usable than more expensive versions. Now my go to square. The broader blade works better for me but that said I'm only using it for DIY projects and mainly on boards not timber.

Don't take the plastic base off. When you put it back on it's a pain to get it square again. Other than that it okay.
