Spear & Jackson 4550DF Traditional Stainless Steel Digging Fork

This is one hellava garden fork. Solid, strong goes through earth like a hot knife through butter. The tool does all the work. Excellent value for money. Worth spending a few pounds more

Firstly this is a great garden fork, strong and nice to use. However, 2 years after I bought it, I managed to snap it in half (too much leverage, trying to move a plant). I noticed it had a 10 year guarantee sticker on, tried to contact Amazon, there is no facility on Amazon for customer feedback after 2 years, so I contacted Spear and Jackson. Well their customer service is outstanding. I don't usually write reviews but this made me make the effort. They replied: 'I can see from the pictures and the receipt you’ve attached that you are eligible for a Free of Charge replacement under the 10 year guarantee.' No hassle, no postage fee and now I have a lovely replacement fork.

It arrived quickly and was well packaged. The stainless steel is great. Nice, shiny and very easy to clean - I forked out a really gooey compost heap with it, so I know. It's a great size for me and I found it weighed about the same as my old one. The only thing that stopped this being a '5' was the handle. It was really rough and had to be sanded befor use - very unusual for Spear and Jackson stuff. Now the handle is smooth it's a great addition to my tool shed and would easily get a 5 rating.

Fantastic and hope it lasts a lifetime

Another good S&J product, as a garden fork this is really good, just don't dig rocks out of your garden or the spines will bend. Little rocks fine, but I hooked some builders rubble in the corner of my garden and ended up bending 2/4 spines. Fork still works, just annoying to have bent those 2 spines.

For the price good product, used first today did the job no problem

This is a good quality fork that was delivered quickly.
