This is a fantastic collection of retro sweets mostly from the 70s and 80s. They are all there - drumstick lollies, stingers, boiled sweets, bubble gum, candy whistles, love hearts, vimto lollies and my personal favourite Space Dust, it still makes me laugh when I pop in my mouth and it goes crazy. It comes in an attractive, brightly coloured box that is fun and really has the wow factor.You can't go wrong at this price and I am pretty sure it would cost more to purchase each of the items individually than the price of this box. It makes an excellent present for anyone in their 40s or 50s, or, thinking about it, any age at all.There are enough "E numbers" in this box to send make anyone fizz around in a hyperactive state for several days. Eat responsibly.

This was a present for the girlfriend and it is safe to say that she was thoroughly pleased. The sweets are presented in a lovely box which is sturdy and of a good quality. The box is filled with sweets and they are most definitely nostalgic, I haven't seen some of these in years, let alone tasted. The sweets are in good condition, but where they were crammed in a drumstick was split open and oozed out a little. Although there could be a little more room for the sweets to move inside the box, giving them enough manoeuvrability to not break or become squished. However, overall it seems smaller than expected, but it is a decent size and so far it has lasted a long time, especially considering she is a lover of sweets. The sweets are just as I remember and there is plenty to go around. This is definitely a value for money, and most definitely puts a smile on your face.

I bought this for a colleague who moved to the UK recently from the US. She absolutely loved it! She finds British sweets so strange. Aside from the late delivery, I was so impressed with this product. It comes in a black and white, comic book/Beano design box which is not only attractive but also very robust. In fact it doesn't need to be wrapped at all if given as a present. The box is promisingly heavy, and contains all kinds of favourite British 'penny' sweets sweets for example bon bons, pear drops, double dip, whistle lollipops, space rocks, parma violets, love hearts, refreshers, black jacks, raindrops and bubbly chewing gum to name a few. Impressive price, and no need to recommend, as everybody asks where they can get their own! I'm really happy with this product, it was the perfect present for a confectionery lover!

(review updated 01/2016 after further purchases)While my following comments still stand, this year's purchase is not up to the same standard. Some of the sweets are sticky inside their paper and around 10% have found their way to the bin. Some old favourites are missing. I felt I should publish a warning that the quality of this product may have fallen slightly.I must stress that I am in no way linked to any seller, this is a genuin reaction to the best sweets I have purchased for ages.Perfect in every way. So much better than any other sweets I have bought before. Highlight of Christmas will buy again. So often when you purchase this kind of product, it is full of taste-alike sweets which only add inches and pounds without any of the enjoyment of this product. From the boiled sweets to the chews etc, each sweet has been carefully chosen to reflect those sweets we love from childhood. this genuin hamper brings back so many memories as the are the real deal. I had even forgotten about some of the sweets and particularly enjoyed the cubes. This is not just a company in it to make money, they have a passion for sweets so obvious in this product. don't buy one, buy two! Even the box is class and will be useful long after the fantastic taste has faded in to your memory.

I've had more expensive boxes from other suppliers and although they were impressive, they were much more expensive and this item is a superb present. Great selection of fab sweets and the perfect alternative to flowers for my wife! Delivered quickly and the packaging is good fun. I dont' think you'll be dissapointed and would recommend this as a present item. I've been worried when buying these kind of products that they won't meet expectations, especially in looking like a decent present - there is no need to worry here - super product/present.

Fabulous selection and great value. This was a very well received gift. We loved the quirky box which was good fun. Some reviewers have referred to the fact that there are some loose (individually wrapped) sweets in the box: there are, and they are shown as such in the picture. We did not feel that this in any way detracted from the product; unpacking the sweets was a treat and very nostalgic. Delivery was very quick. We will buy again.

Every year for the last 10 years we have looked for some unique games, sweets and gifts for the family Christmas . We have had a fairground theme with popcorn & candy floss machines, a giant sweet theme with giant gummy bears, giant snakes, Gob stoppers and giant chocolate bars, last year it was strange sweets, lollipops with fake scorpions, sweets that had a flavor you didn't expect, extreme sour sweets and popping candy chocolate.The kids are no longer kids and we are all getting a little older and I came across this years theme looking at sweets in Amazon and this years theme is Retro and this pack is perfect for all ages. You have Parma Violets, Black Jacks, Fruit Salads, Anglo Bubbly, Rainbow drops and a bag with Rhubarb and Custards, Strawberries & Cream, Kola Kubes and Pineapple Chunks is perfect for us Adults and takes you right back to the 70's. Refreshers, wham bars, fizzy cola bottles and much more for the teenagers and younger ones.The items arrived very quickly within 3 days of the order and very well packaged, I am very happy with the price the product and communication. This will add to the theme we have selected and help make for a great time all we need are the costumes back to Amazon...............
