Fimo and tool set - Great polymer clay set.
Fimo is a high quality brand of polymer clay. It does not air harden, it hardens when baked in the oven. Suitable for 8 years and up. This is not plasticine or play doh, this is used by polymer clay artists and professionals as well as hobbyists. Single colour packs can set you back anywhere between £2-£4, so this set is reasonably good value. The tools are more than suitable for sculpting and you can achieve great results with them. You can use whatever implements you can find around the house. But after using with polymer clay they are not suitable for food use. When buying polymer clay online you don't know how old the clay might be. Older clays may be harder and potentially crumbly - However, with a lot of kneading this can normally correct itself. All polymer clay needs conditioning before use. Meaning that the clay needs kneading (sometimes considerably if older clay). This is not in a boxed 'set' with instructions. You get the clay and the tools, however, if you are new to polymer clay than I suggest YouTube for tutorials, hints, tips and ideas.
