It is very heavy, so you may find a lighter one easier to wield.

Yes - just turn the Mattock upside down and grip either side of the metal head. Bang the thin end (top) of the wooden handle on the ground and the metal piece will loosen - slide it down the full length of the handle and it will come off the end ready for storage

Is the axe side sharp? Need it to split wood, tree stump, roots etc. Suitable for such a task?

Would not try to chop fire wood with it to unbalanced but to chop through tree/shrubs best thing I have ever use helped dig up clear shrubbery 45feet ×25 ft ground /roots cleared in one 5 hour period hotses for courses best for heavy ground clearence buy a good axe for chopping wood .

No not the same product..........Silverline is a different tool manufacturer.........their two parts get 4.5 stars on Amazon customer reviews, whereas this one gets 5 stars, suggesting the small extra cost could be money well spent.........?
