Seems to be a good quality item. Water is crystal clear so looks to be effective. Reasonable water flow rate. Fully compatible with filter housing.

have been using these for a number of years. They do exactly the same job as the Frake "official" filter and are a more cost effective alternative. I understand Doulton used to be the supplier when we bought our filter tap some 20 years ago. Have no hesitation in recommending and they are simple to fit if you follow the instructions.

I bought these Doulton Ultracard M15 water filters instead of the Franke 07. These are less than half price compared to the Franke 07. The Doulton Ultracarb M15 has the same thread configuration as the Franke 07. The Doulton Ultracarb M15 fitted in the Franke plastic filter housing that was supplied with my Franke Minerva boiling water tap. I have a cold water drinking water tap that is also output from the Franke filter. I used this to do the 10 minute purge in the Doulton instructions. There is also an overnight soak followed by a 2 minute purge before it is ready to drink. This allows the "dirty" purge water to bypass Minerva tank.

These filters work very well. I bought a set of four this time around as the cost keeps escalating.

Limescale is very high in our water. We've been happily using the doulton supercarb filter for years but since we got a new kettle I've becomes aware of how quickly the layer of limescale builds up (new limescale is visible after 1-2 days use when boiling filtered water). Having done some research on it my understanding was that upgrading to ultracarb would solve this problem through additional filtration. It has made little or no difference for us. In general the doulton filters are very good as I can see after 6 weeks the amount of reddy brown sludge that isn't getting through to our drinking water. But for the ultracarb I specifically wanted to solve the limescale problem and it hasn't done that. It appears we need to install the duo module dual filtration system to solve this and have an additional cartridge for cleansoft. I'm disappointed though as I read in more than one place that ultracarb addresses limescale and I was expecting some improvement over the supercarb.

Quality water filter , used them for years, easy to install

This is a great quality10" water filtration candle. We've been using this type of 'under the sink' system for about 8 years. Simply turn off the angle valve (supply), remove, scrub with a strong clean cotton cloth to remove dirt and sediment from the filter, then reinstall and you're good to go. Depending on the amount of sediment and gunk in your water supply, this filter can easily last a year or so. I think it saves $100's of dollars every year. Highly recommended!
