Had this for 7 years and I'm still always amazed at the sound quality for something so small and portable. Charge still lasts ages too

I love this little speaker. I take it with me on holiday and it's a nice little boom box for the hotel room. The sound is much better than what your phone can produce, and it's surprisingly loud and clear for something so small. Bluetooth connectivity is a doddle, and the battery seems to last well between charges. I've got a few Anker-branded items now, and they all work brilliantly. Fast becoming a go-to brand that offers great value for money.

Purchased for our daughters small party to have some background sounds. I selected this one because I've had a few Anker products before and have been impressed with their quality. I like it has an SD card slot, an Aux port (because I'm old school) as well as Bluetooth of course. The FM radio is a bit of a Brucie bonus too. Only a charging cable supplied, which is also needed for the FM antenna. No aux 3.5mm cable in the box so you will need to supply your own. Bluetooth connected fine on my Android though I have not tested distance since we would normally have the phone fairly close to the speaker anyway. Figuring it out control wise is pretty straight forward and thus far it has been working very well. The sound quality is actually lovely! I am very, very impressed. I am not an audio buff as such but I like good quality sounds and I am happy to admit this surpassed my expectations. The highs and mids are, to me, clear and well presented. The bass is really a surprise too. That passive radiator is really doing its job here and punching well above what the size looks like it could deliver. Even at max volume it copes very well and you can feel vibrations helping that bass frequency out. Speaking of size, it is smaller than I expected but being made from metal it has a great quality feel to it. Downsides, I wish this could have been a bit louder. I admit it is only 5 watts and perhaps I was asking a lot but even with my devices at max volume and the Soundcore mini at max I can tell in a noisy environment it will struggle to be heard. That being said, you have to appreciate the use case - it is a small portable speaker, not a party machine for a hall! The other downside is the Soundcore app which has been suggested to use. Sadly, when I tested this the Soundcore Mini was not supported. So a useless app. Anker must have removed this devices from their list of supported devices. Also, it asks for your to setup an account and enable location services which seems too intrusive really. Thankfully you can navigate past these - but I just wanted an app to play with the sound quality etc and it no longer works. So overall a star off for this but considering the price and the quality of sound I can not give it a strong 4 stars. Might opt for their larger boom series next!

I am never one to write reviews, in fact this is my first, but this speaker has changed me. Do not get me wrong, it does not have the best sound quality by any means, nor is it that loud, especially in an outside setting. That being said, the loudness is just about perfect for a chill out with some mates, and the sound quality is acceptable. When inside it is not too bad, but as mentioned outside, it is not the best. I managed to purchase this on Prime Day, heavily discounted, which was an added bonus. The amount of times I dropped it, in the first couple years of ownership, and it still worked, surprised me - dropping it on all surfaces seemed to have no effect: grass, carpet and concrete all had no effect. Surprisingly, the single bit of cosmetic damage it has picked up in its life time was the smallest of dents in the top of speaker, caused by a cologne bottle in a rucksack - which I found rather amusing. Although, all of this is irrelevant. What really made me write this review is what happened a few weeks ago. I had taken the speaker kayaking with some friends, which was easy with the Soundcore Mini being so small. I had stuffed it down the side of me in the kayak, and as I was only on a fun little paddle with some friends I had opted not to attach the kayak's spray skirt. Forgetting that I had not attached it, I did a sharp turn, causing the Soundcore Mini to fall out of the kayak and into the lake. Initially I had not realised that the speaker had fallen in - all I heard was a splash. I frantically looked around the kayak to see what was missing, hoping it wasn't my phone, or worse, my lunch. It was not until a friend pointed out they could see my speaker sinking to the bottom of the lake, that I realised that my companion, of now five years, was drowning. That endless bubbles rising to the surface further fuelled my panic. I thought 'I am going in after it', but that is easier said than done. Trying to jump out of a river runner kayak, which is rather overkill for a lake, is incredibly difficult without capsizing. I eventually got in the water, and watched as the last few bubbles rose to the surface. I dove down, and by some miracle I actually found the speaker on the lake floor. In total, the speaker would have been fully submerged in water for two minutes. I returned to land and connected to my speaker. To my surprise it actually turned on. Even more surprisingly, I could connect to it. I played a song. The sound was incredibly muffled. I decided the best thing to do was to play heavily bass boosted music on maximum volume, and place the speaker upside down so the water could escape. After doing this for about two days on and off, the speaker sorted itself out, and the sound quality and volume was back to how it was before going for a swim. May I also point out that the speaker is not advertised as being waterproof. Never have I been more amazed in my life. If you want a pretty cheap, INDESTRUCTIBLE speaker, that you can just throw in your bag and take wherever, no matter the conditions, weather, location, etc. then this is the one. A compromise on sound quality and volume is needed, but when you are out and someone asks if anyone has a speaker, you can be the plug and, this is definitely better than not having one at all. One improvement I think could be made, although it is easier said than done from a production perspective, is to add a loop or hole that you could pass a carabiner through, so the speaker could be attached to the side of a rucksack or a belt. Also, you could attach it to the kayak seat... just in case. But to be fair, I just put it in the bottle holder on the side of my rucksack and that works perfectly fine. Side note: if bored it makes a good substitute for a ball to play catch with.

Very decent audio quality for quite a relative cheap price. It is also really robust: I have dropped it hard many times and it is still working perfectly. Battery is reasonably long and max-volume is pretty okay for its size. Just watch out if you set it on high surfaces at a high volume. Vibrations may make it slightly displace itself and drop to the ground. The speaker will still be fine, but something else may not be!

Can't believe such a tiny speaker can have such a great sound. Great value for money would definitely recommend

It’s a good working Bluetooth speaker!

For such a small speaker this has great sound and a really good battery life. I use in my car because it is old and does not have Bluetooth and I could not be happier. I play music, audiobooks and podcasts. Cannot best the price.
