Just what my cats needed as ordinary outside grass makes them very sick

I’ve expected the planter included but wasn’t very clear on product details. The grass is easy to grow in within 6 to 8days.

Super! I bought this whilst on sale and my cats love it! Grass grows well, so vibrant and thick, long lasting too, very happy with it. We had to remove the top of the planter as it grew so lush!

I've been using Catit products for nearly two decades now, and they are mostly well worth the expensive price. This grass kit is great in itself as it makes sowing and growing super easy, however, there's a huge downside to it: The substrate and the roots mould in no time in its dedicated Catit growth pot (not included in this kit!), so keep that in mind. Don't keep the grass too long (it will also not live too long as it's not made for it anyways). I have not yet tried what happens when I grow the grass in a normal flower pot, as I have yet to find one with the right dimensions (that the cats won't throw over ... We all know the pain of THAT) This kit comes with only three portions, so it's fairly pricey.

I can't wait to see how it grows, I can already see something sprouting.

Firstly, I think it's ridiculous and a rip off that the bowl comes without the grass and soil. It is not worth that much money on its own. However, this is not the main reason why I am writing a review. When I received the bowl I set it up, added the soil and grass, a bit of water and placed it in a cool dry place. I first noticed the smell of excrement the 2nd day and I just thought maybe I was imagining things. By the end of the week this.... Thing.... stunk like nothing I have ever encountered. It was so bad, that when I threw it out I gagged. There were clumps of mould all under the mesh, the 'soil' looked bloated and rotten. The spindly white grass roots weaving in to this mixture just served to make this the most disgusting thing I have ever had in my house. I threw the whole thing out in the trash. How this happened after a week Lord knows, but the soil I feel played a bit as it's like sawdust mulch instead of proper soil (which the cat can't get to anyway so what is the point). The box nor the heavily marked up mulch and grass came with any instructions so I was cautious with the the amount of water and made a point not to overfill. Also, due to the way the mesh is, once the grass has grown you cannot easily take the lid off to check the 'soil' or give it a turn. The only positive I have is that it arrived quickly and the box it came in was nice. I would not have this thing in my house again.

Full of seeds! The planter unit has to be bought separately. I will update once I have attempted to grow them.

Every single time I buy this for my cat, they start hanging around the pot and love watching it grow! It's crazy to see, all they want is to chew it as it sprouts. For anyone who has cats that lot catnip, please consider trying this at home, it's a fresher version of it.

Also ich kann die Negativbewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Wächst einwandfrei wenn man es richtig macht. Folgende Anleitung 1. Samen 24 Stunden in Wasser einweichen lauwarm bis kalt 2. Samen Abseilen, auf ein Papiertuch ausbreiten, mit einem bedecken und ca 48-72 Stunden feucht halten bis die Samen sprießen. Immer wieder Ansprühen. Feucht nicht nass 3. Nachdem die Samen zu sprießen angefangen haben -> Granulat in das Gefäß geben Samen draufstreuen. Dann Gießen sodass das Granulat die Feuchtigkeit aufnimmt. Überschüssiges Wasser ablassen bzw ausleeren und Gitter drauf. Morgens und abends ansprühen. Voila. Zwischendurch schneide ich es und hält ca 4-5 Wochen. Bissi Gießen nicht vergessen. Funktioniert einwandfrei. Siehe Foto Tag 5. Ja ich empfehle das Produkt. Schimmel entwickelt sich wenn zu nass. 😉
