Hi does it shrink when baked? Thank you.

It shrinks roughly 2%. With small models you barely notice it.

How firm is this supposed to be? I was under the impression that it was very firm, but my order seemed rather soft. I love everything else about it

I found it to be totally the opposite, so hard that nothing softened it! A total nightmare to work with, I ended up throwing it all away!!

Do you need to bake it? I only want to patch up action figures with it will it cure on its own ?

You do have to bake it. Try miliput.

The clay is so hard. Any ideas how to soften it to work with or at least stop it drying out?

If its new it should warm up fast enough in your hands after working it for a short time. If it is too hard I use a small bit of mineral oil to soften it. The only way to stop it drying out Is keep it in an air tight container or bag. Mine has become brittle and hard in the air, and it isn't worth the time to work it back to be usable, so keep it airtight always.
