McDavid Knee Brace with Polycentric Hinges and Cross Straps

This is a tricky one, I played basketball at a high level into my early mid 20’s, I ended up with a variety of injuries, and swapped basketball for a professional career. Now in my mid 40’s I have the itch again, and it’s been a nightmare finding the right equipment, knee braces being one of them. There was one choice 20 years ago an LP hinged brace, now there are more options, “doctors” etc… all pushing for your business. That leads me onto the Mcdavid knee brace, it’s perfect for wearing during sports, keeps your knee stable, allows you to move and cut without any issues at all, it’s sizing brackets are each within an inch / so measure carefully and pick the right size preferably in the middle or at the top end of the 1 inch size range. The brackets keeps your knee super strong & stable, no pinching or digging in issues (it comes down to finding the right size). It gets a 5 out of 5 for me, I felt compelled to write this, as I spent hours researching, I also purchased a number of other brands - some cheaper some a lot more expensive, the McDavid knee brace not only does the job as advertised, it’s giving me the ability to play with confidence again.This is the only review I have written in 7 years of buying products from amazon. I hope it helps you make a decision that is right for you, but the fit / quality and sturdiness of the brace, straps and hinge is spot on.

I bought this knee brace to use skiing after I had tore my MCL and fractured my tibial plateau the year before on my previous skiing holiday.The support worked brilliantly.. it supported my knee and gave me the flexibility to ski .I have returned from a great holiday, injury free having skied hard all week.Would recommend.. 5*.

This has been very useful, used to play football. Considering I had no ACL this enabled me to play at a non competition level, until I had my surgery.

This is the best knee brace I've used. Bought it for running and playing 5 aside football and it gives such great support.I snapped my cruciate ligament ACL a few years back and have had two surgeries. This knee brace has given me the confidence to play football again.PROS- great knee stability- seems extremely durable- lots of straps to keep the brace in place- comfortable for a few hours of sport- forget you're wearing the brace after 5 minutesCONS- is bulkier- leg gets sweaty

This knee brace is everything you could want from such a product. It provides great support without being cumbersome. My son has played rugby matches with it on and it has not hindered his play at all but it does provide the support and reassurance necessary as he recovers from knee surgery

Product tends to scuff side of knee

Whist waiting for a scan for suspected ACL tear my knee clunk's and can't hold weight. With this I can actually walk and drive. It's so adjustable and comfortable and I can use it after surgery. Great buy!

Good knee brace..give stable lateral support for my knee, especially when indulging in sports..

Excelente calidad en el material. Las cintas que cruzan en la parte superior e inferior proporcionan la primera parte de su firmeza y las tiras finales le dan una sujeción muy importante que evitan que la rodillera se mueva de su lugar. Pedí la talla justa a mi tamaño, al principio quedó un poco justa, pero se sintío una firmeza muy agradable en la rodilla. Con el uso aflojo un poco y queda perfecta! La uso para todo propósito y hay momentos que ni la siento.Estoy realmente contento con la rodillera y muy cómodo con su soporte.

Habe nach langem Überlegen und Recherchieren diese Knie Orthese für meinen Mann bestellt.....!Zur Vorgeschichte: er hatte vor ca. 9 Jahren einen vorderen Kreuzbandriss. Dieser Riss wurde nach Rat eines Sportarzt-Profis nicht operiert....! Zum Glück.Mein Mann ist jahrelang mit einer dünnen Sportbande und Binde gefahren! Die Angst im Kopf führ dabei immer mit. „Hoffentlich passiert nicht wieder was mit dem Knie“!Nach einem langen Skitag ( ca. 50 km pro Tag) hat sich die damalige Sportbandage in die Haut geschnürt und produzierte unangenehme Schmerzen und Abdrücke!!!!-> DAMIT IST JETZT SCHLUSS!!!!!Diese Orthese ist ein muss für alle Skifahrer die wieder ohne Kopfkino Skifahren wollen!Vor dem ersten Benutzen hatte er Angst das sie zu dick unter der Skihose ist und stremmt.Keine seiner Zweifel hat sich bestätigt.Die Orthese ist sehr angenehm zu tragen, passt unter jede Skihose ohne zu beklemmen!Er merkt kaum das er eine Orthese trägt!!!FAZIT: eine super Unterstützung für alle vorbelasteten Skifahrer die wieder ohne große Angst Skifahren wollen!Der Preis ist super fair. I am in my late 50s. I am a keen skier and I have a twenty-five-year-old full ACL rupture in my left knee from an earlier skiing accident. The same knee also suffered a volleyball accident that resulted in torn meniscuses. I have tried a variety of knee braces for skiing over the years and they kept me in the slopes, but with some pain and swelling around my left knee. Today I’m just back home after one week in the Dolomites. I ‘we been skinning for six days straight, and my knee feels great. The enclosed instructions advise not to wear for more than 2-3 hours, but I have worn it for well over six hours per day, every day of my vacation. During the week there has been no swelling or pain in the knee, just some small red marks on the skin that will go away after a couple of days. This brace is well worth the money, and I’m very glad that I bought one!
