Exactly What I Wanted, Exactly As Depicted in the Photo and At a Great Price ! !
I had a similar alarm clock to this one (not a Casio one though - if I remember right I got it from Wilkinsons!) but it got broken recently when I accidentally knocked it off my bedside table and it totally fell apart. So, I needed another alarm clock and decided to get this one because a) it seemed compact and functional, without unnecessary functions that I would rarely, if ever use, b) I prefer this 'normal' type of alarm clock to the digital ones, c) Casio is a well known brand and c) it wasn't over-priced!It arrived this morning and I'm so happy with it! It's exactly as it looks in the photo (the black one), although the green numbers and the tips of the hands are much brighter than depicted in the photo. The green almost looks fluorescent so I'm sure I will be able to see the time in the dark! The clock is a really nice size - compact but not too small - and it seems quite substantial. It came with a battery which I popped in, not necessarily expecting it to work as I thought it could be an old one, but it works fine. To set the time and the alarm, there's a little button / dial at the back. To set the alarm just turn that and set it to the right time. Then pull the little slider thingy on top of the clock up and the alarm is set (push the slider down to turn the alarm off). To set the time just pull that button out a bit and turn it to get the right time setting. When you've set the time, just push the button back in to the original position. The alarm is nice and clear and not startlingly loud, thank god, but loud enough to wake most people up unless perhaps they're the kind of sleeper who is almost totally dead to the world when they're asleep but the alarm should even wake them up!This is just perfect for me - a well priced, nice quality, straightforward, functional, compact and nice looking little clock! I don't see the point in wasting money on bigger, clunky, more 'hi-tech' and costly alarm clocks, especially the digital ones with all the stupid settings that I would hardly, if ever, use anyway. This one is great and it seems like it should last me for quite awhile unless, of course, I knock it off the bedside table like I did with my last alarm clock and it falls apart! I'll be more careful in future though!

Old School Cool: A Retro Gem with Modern Quirks
The Casio Collection Wake Up Timer (TQ-140-1EF) is a blast from the past that's found its place in the present. As a fan of retro gadgets, I couldn't resist giving this little timekeeper a try. Here's my take on this classic alarm clock 🕰️First off, let's talk about that neo-display. It's a clever feature that illuminates after exposure to light, making those bleary-eyed midnight time checks a breeze. No more fumbling for buttons in the dark! However, I found the illumination to be a bit underwhelming compared to modern backlit displays 💡The compact size is a real winner. At just 57 x 57 x 33 mm and weighing a mere 64 grams, it's perfect for my camping trips and doesn't hog space on my nightstand. The resin case feels sturdy enough to survive a few accidental knocks too. Now, about that alarm... It's reliable, I'll give it that. The beeper gets the job done, but it's not exactly a gentle wake-up call. If you're a heavy sleeper like me, you'll appreciate its effectiveness. Light sleepers might find it a bit jarring, though 😬Battery life is decent, lasting about a year. In this age of rechargeable everything, it feels a bit old-school to change batteries, but hey, that's part of its charm, right? The retro design is where this clock really shines ✨. It's got that classic Casio look that's somehow timeless. Whether you're a nostalgic 80s kid or a youngster appreciating vintage aesthetics, this clock fits right in.One unexpected bonus? The stopwatch function. It's surprisingly handy for timing my morning routines or workout sessions.Overall, the Casio TQ-140-1EF is a charming mix of old and new. It's not packed with fancy features, but it's reliable, functional, and has that cool retro vibe. If you're looking for a no-nonsense alarm clock with a touch of nostalgia, this little Casio might just be your perfect bedside companion. Just don't expect it to revolutionize your wake-up experience – it's more about embracing the classics! 🌟

Casio alarm clock
I like Casio alarm clocks like this so when one died I bought a replacement. Unfotunately although I ordered a black one with a black face I was sent a black one with a white face. Still a good clock, but not exactly what I wanted, so only 4 stars out of 5.

Uncomplicated, reliable and inexpensive analogue alarm clock.
Inexpensive, pocket sized Alarm Clock measuring 5.5cm x 5.5cm x 3cm deep. Plastic shell. Large, clear numerals and minute/hour hands with luminous coating. Sweep second hand plus hour alarm indicator. Really simple to set up. Insert the AA battery (supplied), set the time from the winder on the back which has two positions - pulled slightly out to change the time, pushed in to change the alarm time. Button on top of clock pushed to 'up' position to set alarm on, 'down' position for off.I first had one of these when I was a schoolgirl, and it woke me dutifully every day, for many years. And I took some waking, like most kids. It lasted forever. Very sturdy and survived being swept off bedside tables, knocked over and thrown. This one is pretty much identical. This has a clear, insistent, repeating chirrup of an alarm call, but other than that, the clock is virtually silent.Battery will last a year or longer. This comes properly boxed, with all the paperwork for instructions, guarantees, etc.I got this for the car, as the internal car clock has clapped out, but this is an ideal little analogue clock that will fit in discreetly just about anywhere..
