Does this have autofocus and will it work on the omd em10?

i use mine on an em10! my favourite lens. if i could only have one lens this would be it. excellent for landscapes, portraits and street. yes, auto focus instantaneous.if you set up the em10, you can auito fous with half press, then fine tune with focus peaking for eyes, etc. highly recommended. if you want slightly wider, consider the 19mm sigma art. slightly cheaper and slower but still sharp.

My husband has the panasonic lumix dc-gx800. Is this a good lens as a starting point?

In my opinion this is an excellent prime lens. It is the equivalent of a nifty fifty, great for portraits and street photography. The lens is built well, sharp and quite compact. So yes, this is a great starting point.

Looking to shoot a fireworks event on my Panasonic G80 would this lens be good for this? if not can anyone recommend another?

I wonder if you would get sufficient field of view but that depends on the size of the fireworks and how far you are from the action. I recently did a FW shoot and opted for the kit 12-60mm zoom on my G-80 and took all frames at 12mm (wider FoV?) (24mm equivalent). Even then there was only need for minimal cropping. While the 25mm prime is a great lens, my suggestion would be to go with something with a little more flexibility.
