Are these sensitive enough to detect the spark on a Briggs & Stratton 3.5hp lawnmower engine?

All spark plugs require a very high voltage, usually 15kv +. I would assume that even a small B&S engine requires the same.

Does the top unscrew to fit motorcycle spark plug caps (usually only fit the screw at the top of the spark plug)?

Would these work on my positive earth classic car?

I assume it will, if is a primary DC +/- which operates the coil and will normally function either way round for Pos. or Neg. cars.
