Would this be good with the polychromos ?

These don't leave little tiny red streaks when you rub out like the cheap red erasers on the end of the stripy pencils do they?

No they don't, I haven't experienced any problem with them. However, if you are using to pick out highlights on pencil can I recommend the Tombow mono eraser.

do you sharpen these like a regular pencil, as the tip wears down ?

Yes you do. But be aware that the pencil's tip is soft and the only way to get a sharp edge is by using a blade or filling the tip gently, with sandpaper.

Do these erasers also erase coloured pencil marks?

They do erase coloured pencil marks, but not completely. A faint residue of the colour is left behind. If you are going back over with another colour, it may be OK, but if you won't be able to leave pure white. This is based on erasing normally applied coloured pencils. If you wish to erase a deep colour, it will be more difficult.
