Excellent CPD for New or Experienced Teachers Alike
I loved this book, and yes, I am a secondary Maths teacher, so the fact that lots of the examples are maths based is definitely an advantage for me. That said, it’s very easy to see how the techniques could be applied to, other subjects, or indeed a primary aged classroom. The general idea is to encourage you to tweak something that you are already doing, rather than trying to get you to change everything and magically become some kind of “super teacher”.I found the section on using mini whiteboards particularly useful, and having gotten somewhat out of the habit of using these, I’m not just using them again, but using them better than I ever did before. Indeed it was fascinating recently to see an interviewing teacher make very poor use of mini whiteboards, with no apparent purpose for their use. I just wanted to send them off to read Craig’s book. There’s a great website that goes with the book, which I also recommend. Between them, the book and website are proving to be the most useful CPD I’ve done in years.

Very tailored to Maths
This book is advertised and generally is written for cross-curricular teaching. It contains some useful ideas (although really nothing not already written about elsewhere). The big drawback is that this is very much tailored to maths. Nearly every example is from maths lessons. A bit disappointing as a humanities teacher.

A superb collection of strategies
This comprehensive and coherent detailing of strategies to improve teaching effectiveness is an invaluable addition to any teacher's library. The multitude of tips are linked together in an intelligent and accessible fashion enabling an enriching cover-to-cover or dipping-in approach. The wealth of advice from expert teachers and research will help new and experienced teachers.I cannot recommend highly enough. If you are a teacher who wants to improve your practice, I strongly advise you to buy this book.

Whatever your phase or subject - buy this book
This is a fantastic book. It is written by a secondary Maths teacher, so some of it is Maths based, but there's SO MUCH that's incredibly useful regardless of your phase or subject (I teach Year 2 in a primary school). It ties in well to 'Teach Like a Champion' which is absolutely worth buying as well, but also stands alone. The ideas are generally very easy to implement but have a high-impact. Worth every penny.

Excellent distillation of so much wisdom
There is so much advice out there for teachers, a lot of it is helpful, some of it is very situation dependent. This book does an incredible job of distilling tonnes of the great advice out there and prompting you to consider how each bit of advice might work in your context. It doesn't shove anything down your throat, just puts the ideas out there and leaves you to make your own decisions. Anyone who's read any of Craig's other books will already be familiar with the very personable and easy to understand style of his writing - this book is no exception. A must buy for any teacher who wants to work at improving their practice... which should be all of us!

A must read for all teachers
Another great read full of realistic and high impact techniques for all levels of classroom teacher from Craig. His book covers many aspects of classroom teaching and gives some great suggestions of things to try. After reading, I had so many ideas I was desperate to implement in my own teaching and that of my department. As with Craig's other books, I am left with such an inspiration! I bought a copy for my ECT and have recommended it to most teachers I know.
