Strim lining
Brilliant best strimer I've had. I use the 5amp battery and it's powerful my garden is not a lawn it's more like wildlife. Thick grass daffodils nettles tree stumps wooden fence garden size length of house 35ft depth. This manages it with ease very easy to set up and replace the spool is simple. To adjust length and position of the head is easy to do and the handle is comfortable for what it is,also can be angled in different positions. Light and easy to use but nicely solid built very capable for heavy domestic use and light usage. Vibrating is very very minimal with no gloves and this is with Ryobi most powerful battery. But if you use the plastic blade brush cutter head which is again easy to swap between the strimer and cutter heads it vibrates like a hammer drill. So wear gloves if using the cutter head on brush cutting duties, but for light and general striming with the strimer head it comes with no vibration. I have issues with my hands due to torn ligaments and age and this strimer is a God send! it is easy to use,set up, light and tough enough to tackle my wildlife garden which also isn't flat, lumpy as anything.

Nice and easy to use
A good quality little trimmer, easy to use and quite light, I used it with a 5.0AH battery which I have and had plenty enough run time to trim the lawn and the perimeter of the vegetable patch. Comparing it to my previous corded trimmer it has slightly less power of course but this is an advantage as it causes less damage to tree bark etc if I get a little careless but has plenty of power to cut the grass and weeds.

Lightweight & Powerful, But Have Spare Batteries
This works brilliantly—really lightweight and easy to handle, and the motor’s strong enough to get through regular trimming without any issues. I love that it uses the Ryobi ONE+ batteries I already had, so no extra spend there. The only downside is the battery doesn’t last that long, so if you’ve got a bigger garden, having a spare battery ready makes all the difference. Still, a great tool if you’re already in the Ryobi system.

Beyond Impressed!!
Had heavily overgrown grass that needed taken care of and I was unsure if this had the power to do it but for £60 it was worth a try as I already had Ryobi batteries and even with the 1.5ah battery it went through grass, nettles and weeds like it was nothing. Beyond impressed, I used a 1.5ah and an aftermarket 4.0ah battery and was able to go for about 50mins and the auto feed really does work flawlessly. I also decided to buy the ryobi .08 twisted line which to me seems very worth it with these results, the line that originally comes installed doesn’t seem as tough. Only downside is you would need a few batteries to do the whole garden of this size but compared to what one would normally get this tool for this was a proper stress test and it gets an A+ from me!

Good quality and design
So I bought 3 trimmers for evaluation. This one is a clear winner. Easy to assemble - a single screw for the guard and then attached the handle. Done! The battery took about 2 hours ish maybe less to charge. I chose this one because I find the string only variety are not good enough to clear thick weeds. This beauty has a clip on string attachment which is easily interchangeable with a clip on blade attachment. The string did a fine job of removing the light weeds in the soil and in gaps between the hard paving. The spool jammed a couple of times as they normally do. So I had to manually re-feed the line - bit annoying. However the clip on blade did an excellent job in demolishing thick weeds and bramble. Very happy.

Powerful
Brought this to do the edges and weeds around the garden got sick of using the petrol one for smaller jobsI use a 1.5ah battery I use for my drill with this and it lasts from full use from both front and back garden and my back is quite bigAfter using it I thought I’d give it a go on the thicker weeds that come through the slabs I was quite surprised on how easy it cut through them being a battery powered motor but it didn’t struggle at all not as long as you hold the trigger before you attempt to cut as some people don’t let there strimmer come to speed before actually cuttingIt’s quite light and easy to use obviously if you used a bigger battery it will add weight to the handle but I can easily use this one handed as I was on the phone texting once when using itYou can easily rotate the bottom to clean up the edges of your lawn and it does extend in 6’3 and on full length I seem to be fine using itDefinitely would recommend if you already own a ryobi tool as this doesn’t come with charger or battery

Worth every penny.
I'll apologise in advance for the long review...We've been manually trimming grass borders with small hand shears. Mainly because our gtech device's battery no longer charges and Gtech have changed battery design and couldn't provide replacements. This made me doubt about buying future battery operated devices, My gtech is over 8 years old and has been brilliant. However it's worthless without a battery and no third party solutions existed. It's not going to the skip and it's a total waste.Ryobi offer so many tools I'd be amazed if they changed the battery design in the near future. If they did there's a plentiful supply of third party batteries on offer as well. This made my mind up to invest in a ryobi. This strimmer did the job in 10 minutes. The "kit" purchase (battery, charger and strimmer for £99) was out of stock so I purchased the items separately (albeit with a 4amp battery and quicker charger). The battery had one notch on it already but was enough to complete the task (so I could have had a smaller capacity battery) . The strimmer is REALLY quiet and very efficient. I thoroughly recommend this ryobi and will no doubt invest in more of their tools in the future.
