Best VHB tape, the only one I buy.
I purchase this brand of VHB over any other. Once attached and left to adhere to the items this is required for, it does make a incredibly strong bond and has with stood the forces I have placed upon it. Used this to reattach a section of my car bumper that had lost its mounting holes.

Strong, clean, and versatile—solid tape for tough surfaces, trim jobs, and permanent mods.
This tape’s built for serious bonding—VHB (Very High Bond) foam with a filmic liner that grips hard-to-stick surfaces like powder-coated metals, plastics, and painted panels. Geared toward van mods, signage, dash cams, tool mounts, or site gear where screws aren’t ideal. 1.1mm thickness gives shock absorption and fills minor gaps. Sticks firm with pressure—no heat gun needed. Waterproof, UV-resistant, and holds up in UK weather. Once it’s on, it’s permanent—removal may lift paint or leave residue. Ideal for clean installs where you want a flush, screw-free finish. Works well on uneven surfaces too. Best used with surface prep—wipe down with isopropyl alcohol and apply with firm pressure for 30+ seconds. 👍 Pros ✅ Bonds to powder-coated, painted, and low-energy surfaces ✅ Heavy-duty grip—industrial strength ✅ Shock-absorbing foam—dampens vibration ✅ Weatherproof—UV and moisture resistant ✅ Clean finish—no screws or visible fixings 👎 Cons ❌ Permanent bond—removal can damage surface ❌ No dispenser—cut manually ❌ One-shot stick—no repositioning

Solid for car application
Incredibly strong bond. Used successfully to attach a carbon fibre spoiler to my Tesla Model 3 tailgate. Has survived 12 months with no signs of peeling. Very happy, would use again and would recommend

Cold and textured wall, no problems
I was trying to find a tape to replace the 3M bracket stickers that came with my Govee rope light. I tried so many different kinds of double sided tape, another brand of strong hold tape, foam stickers... My wall is textured, painted and is exterior so it's always cold, and the rope gets quite warm after a while of being on. With that combo of texture and changing temperature nothing I tried would hold. Except this tape. I'm really impressed. It also doesn't really stick to your fingers and a scissors cuts it easily, no mess.

3M VHB 5952 Adhesive Tape
Used as intended, 3M VHB 5952 is impressively strong—but it’s also less forgiving than the listing makes it sound, and for my use case it ended up being a “great product, tricky experience,” which is why I’m landing at 3 stars instead of 5. I bought the 3M VHB 5952 roll (black, 19 mm × 3 m 19mm×3m) for “simple permanent bonding” jobs: mounting small accessories, attaching brackets, and tidying up a few DIY projects where I didn’t want screws or visible hardware. I’ve used VHB-style tapes before, so I expected strong adhesion. What I didn’t fully appreciate (and what I think many buyers won’t either) is how sensitive the results are to surface prep, pressure, temperature, and the fact that “permanent” really means “you may damage things if you ever need to remove it.” The good: once it’s truly bonded, it’s seriously strong When everything goes right—clean surfaces, firm pressure, reasonable temperature, and enough cure time—this tape bonds extremely well. It has that classic VHB behavior where it feels “pretty stuck” at first, then becomes significantly more secure as time passes. After letting it sit, the hold feels like it transitions from tape to something closer to a structural bond. It’s also nice that it’s black, which can look cleaner than gray or white foam tape when you’re mounting something on dark materials. The width ( 19 mm 19mm) is a useful middle ground: wide enough for decent contact area without being awkward to fit on small parts. The not-so-good: “simple” is only true if your setup is ideal The listing implies this is a straightforward peel-and-stick solution. In practice, I found it to be “simple” only under ideal conditions. The tape has a learning curve if you’re using it for anything beyond a perfectly flat, clean, non-porous surface. Here’s what tripped me up: Surface prep is not optional. Anything like dust, skin oils, slight residue, or a textured/powdery finish can drop performance a lot. “Looks clean” isn’t the same as “clean enough.” Pressure matters more than people expect. You don’t just stick it on—you really need firm, even pressure to wet out the adhesive into the surface. If you just press lightly with fingers, the initial tack can feel okay, but the long-term bond can be disappointing. Cure time is real. If you load it immediately, you may think the tape “failed,” when in reality it just hadn’t developed full strength yet. I’m not saying these requirements are unreasonable for industrial-grade bonding tape; I’m saying the typical Amazon buyer may not realize how carefully they need to treat it to get the advertised performance. Mixed results depending on the material This is where my rating really lands. On some surfaces, it was excellent. On others, it was inconsistent unless I went above and beyond with prep and pressure. For example, smooth painted metal and some plastics worked well once prepped properly. On certain textured plastics or slightly rough coatings, I got a bond that felt strong at first but didn’t inspire confidence after a couple days of temperature changes and normal handling. That inconsistency is frustrating because you can’t always tell right away whether it’s a “forever bond” or a “this might peel later” bond—especially if the item you’re mounting doesn’t fail until it’s already holding something you care about. Removal: can be messy, and can damage finishes The product description highlights “permanent bonding,” and it delivers on that—sometimes a little too well. If you ever need to remove what you mounted, be prepared for at least one of these outcomes: The tape stretches and tears, leaving chunks of adhesive behind The surface finish pulls up (paint, coating, veneer, etc.) You end up spending a long time working it off with heat, careful peeling, and cleanup For something like a car trim piece, a mounted accessory, or anything with a finish you don’t want to risk, this matters. The tape can be a fantastic solution if you’re sure about placement and truly want permanent. If you’re experimenting, repositioning, or prototyping, it’s not a friendly choice. The liner and handling: doable, but not my favorite The “filmic liner” does its job, but I still found the tape somewhat annoying to work with on small, precise placements. If you’re cutting short pieces, you need a clean cut and some patience to get the liner started without stretching or contaminating the adhesive. Because it’s a foam tape, it can also compress a bit. That’s great for conforming to minor surface irregularities, but it also means alignment matters. If you press it down crooked and commit pressure, “fixing it” is not simple. When I think this tape makes sense I’d recommend it (with caveats) for: Mounting items on smooth, clean, non-porous surfaces Jobs where you can apply firm pressure evenly Cases where you can let it cure before applying load Situations where you truly want a near-permanent bond When I’d choose something else I’d look for alternatives if: You need repositionability or plan to remove it later You’re bonding to unknown plastics, dusty coatings, or textured surfaces The bond failure would cause damage (expensive object, safety issue) You can’t clamp/press it properly during install Why 3 stars This tape is clearly high quality, and I can see why people love VHB when it’s used correctly. But for “simple permanent bonding,” it’s not as plug-and-play as the product title suggests, and the penalty for getting it wrong is either failure later or a painful removal process. For experienced users who know the prep steps and accept the permanence, it can be 5 stars. For the average buyer expecting easy mounting tape, I think it lands closer to the middle.

Absolutely brilliant, used to fix a reversing camera to our m/home.
Absolutely brilliant!!! Bought this to attach a reversing light to the back of our motorhome. We’ve been on a trip with it attached to the external rear and it’s still in place. I have used it for various projects now instead of getting my drill out…. Will buy again

Ridiculously strong. It is also easy to work with. Has just enough elastic stretch to conform to slightly uneven surfaces, the protective liner separated nicely from the tape itself.

Error, no he tenido fuerza a quitar la cinta.
