DAS BOOT
Wow, this kit was fabulous from Revell. The detailing on the boat is wonderful, with both recessed and raised parts, giving a very nice sense of scale. It included 3 different markings, so it's possible to create a Wolfpack of these u-boats. The fit was great and is a newer tooling from around 2009, so it's as expected. All in all a great kit by revell, the only downside is the censoring of the flag, but that's understandable. If you've built a relatively modern revell kit, you know what quality to expect.

Great kit, easy to make but some fiddly parts to assemble. I suppose that's why we make them. The overall finish is good with numerous u.boat colour schemes and boats which served the German navy.

Nice kit, not the best kit ive made but nothing bad about it
The kit has pleanty of detail and goes together nicely and only has minimal flashing. It does however have all plastic construction even on hand rails and hand rails appear to be over scale thickness. The kit also has some questionable choices on parts that could be moulded together but instead are seperate but offer no benifit- for exaple the seal where the prop shaft meets the hull could be part of the hull but consists of 2 seperate parts with the seam meeting allong the side where it is visable. Despite this the deck has a convinient clip in mid section that can be left un glued for access and enough space inside if you choose to motorise it like me.

Superbly detailed sub
I saw another modeller build this on YouTube and thought I would like a go at this one, as I love building the smaller 1/700 Hobbyboss or Revell subs. The only downfall is they are quite tiny whereas this one is 50cm or so across so loads of scope to detail. The parts go together really well, and they are detailed enough to keep everyone happy. The build itself only took a couple of hours but the attention to detail is brilliant. For me the fun of this kit is on the weathering and painting, but you cannot go wrong with this kit.

I loved this model. Great detail and ability to add your own features Still waiting to put on the thread rigging but completed model is great. Great fun and not to difficult but still enough to challenge you

Revell of Germany never disappoints. All parts fit well and no warping. I just need to paint it.

Das Modell ist verblüffend detailliert. Fast alle Teile lassen sich gut aus der Gussform lösen. Lediglich beim Heck habe ich was abgebrochen. Als Schwierigkeitsgrad wird eine mittlere Schwierigkeit angegeben. In der Praxis heißt das, dass das Modell für ungeduldige 9jährige Jungs zu schwierig ist. Papa muss dann ran. Was neben den Modell noch gebraucht wird ist ein ein kleiner Bohrer (<=1.5mm), Zwirn, Bastelkleber, sehr feines Schleifpapier und eine kleine Kneifzange um Einzelteile aus der Gussform zu lösen. Eventuell auch noch Klebeband, welches sich leicht ablösen löst. Will man das Modell farbig machen, wird es allerdings aufwendig. Ich bin auf ca. 40,- EUR gekommen, wenn ich alle Farben neu kaufen würde. Reine Bauzeit dürfte so bei 2-3 Stunden liegen. Kann man Vater-Sohn-Gespann natürlich endlos ausdehnen. Bemalt habe ich mein U-Boot nicht, keine Ahnung wie lange das dauern würde.

Que muy bien una vez terminada. Recomiendo pintarla con aerógrafo.
