Quality kit
Sturdy little tripod with adjustable ball mount. Quite expensive but Manfrotto kit is top notch. Holds my iPhone plus securely and would work with smaller phones too

Nice tripod for compact cameras or smartphones
My smartphone has an astrophotography mode I was keen to try, but it only kicks in when the phone is absolutely stationary and needs to remain still for about two minutes. I needed a tripod, and this one looked perfect. The tripod is nice and light and when folded up is about the size of a banana - 18cm long (without the smartphone clamp), and about 5cm wide. The three legs swivel out from the top - they don't extend - and it stands about 14cm tall. At the top of the tripod there is a screw fitting onto which you can attach a compact camera, and there's also a clamp for smartphones which you can either attach at the bottom, or on the back which is good for taking photos of the sky, or ornate ceilings, pointing straight up. The clamp pulls open and grips the sides of the phone. It doesn't pull very wide apart - narrowest width is about 5.5cm and the widest it goes is about 6.5cm - so don't buy it with the intention of putting a tablet in there. The back of the clamp also has an extendable kickstand of sorts, so if you want to take a photo with your camera but don't need the full tripod you can always unscrew the clamp, extend the kickstand, and just use that. At the top of the tripod there is a large red button. If you push this in the screw part of the tripod can now move freely on a ball joint, and when you release the button it locks in position. It feels sturdy and robust, as with the rest of the tripod. I really like this tripod and look forward to taking more pictures of the night sky, and also putting it in my case when we go on holidays.

Good product, but let down by small flaws.
Very firm clamp, that means I'm never worried about the phone sliding or falling off. Feels well made, with two exceptions: The back features a tiny kick-stand that allows this device to act as a little stand. The 'leg' that pops out is incredibly flimsy, and barely has the strength to hold up an iPhone 5s (the smallest). I purchased this to go with a tripod, so it didn't ruin the product for me, but when paying a premium I'd much rather have a feature that works, or not have it at all. The red pads are either poorly manufactured, or low quality as one side is thinner than the other by about 1mm. The difference is small, but it means every photo I have needs to be rotated by about 2 degrees to be perfect.

Surprisingly useful
Works remarkably well, and is easy to use. I'd bought it on a whim, but it's been earning its place in the little side pocket of the bag that carries my Manfrotto compact travel monopod. It can be fitted in seconds, and provides a stable platform for a phone camera. That's proved surprising useful, especially as one generally doesn't know the shutter speed that a phone camera is using. I also found it useful when taking panoramic shots, as it's much easier to hold the camera stable and follow any tracking guidelines in a panoramic stitching app. The phone is held securely in an extensible spring-loaded clamp. There's a standard threaded bush at the bottom , and a second at the back, allowing a choice of orientations on a tripod or monopod. The Manfrotto Smartphone Clamp easily carries my iPhone SE, even when it's fitted in its i-Blason case. I've also found it useful when using my phone camera to take pictures through a microscope, by mounting the Clamp on a tabletop tripod then using that to hold the lens squarely over the eyepiece, without wobbling. Photographs taken this way are surprisingly effective. Super little gadget. I love it.

Excellent compact smartphone tripod by Manfrotto
Excellent compact smartphone tripod, well made and light. Enables phone to be mounted horizontally or vertically, while the swivel ball head allows phone to be adjusted so it is level, even if the tripod on an uneven surface eg wall, etc.

Top quality mini tripod
Kindly sent to me for review this is a really good quality mini tripod. As soon as you pick it up you can feel it's much better quality than lower cost mini tripod, it feels solid, well built, and it's something you can trust your equipment on. The legs fold in for easy storage, or for using this for selfies. Note the legs are solid and don't bend, this isn't the sort of tripod that allows you to wrap it round a tree for quirky shots. On the top is a standard thread that can be used with cameras, camcorders and video cameras. You can also use mobiles via the included adapter that also acts as a mobile stand thanks to the little kick stand on the back. These are held in place by an incredible impressive lock. The red button on the front 'unlocks' the mount allowing you to adjust it's position, let go of the button and it won't move. At all. You'll see me try and move it in the video and I can tell you now I didn't manage to budge it even a millimeter! This means you can pop a DSLR camera on the tripod and you don't need to worry about the weight causing it to topple over, which could be especially disastrous if you're shooting from a high position. In this case you really do get what you pay for, the build is so much better than lower cost mini tripods, I feel a lot better about using my Nikon D5100 with this than with cheaper plastic options.

I needed a small tripod for my Nebula Cosmos projector that I have in my living / TV room (which weighs 2kg). I actually used, for a few days, the smaller tripod from this same company (which is rated for 1kg). It actually worked perfectly. I was just scared about overloading it and my expensive projector falling. That smaller model uses a push button to rotate / secure the ball. This slightly larger unit uses a twist screw, which seems more stable and secure. This model is rated for 2.5kg; so, that makes me rest easier. I don't see much use for the extendable legs. But, this unit does seem to sit slightly wider, for a slightly more sturdy stance. For now, it seems great and I am happy with it. I don't plan to ever move it (unless I move; I have a portable projector for on the go use). Hopefully it provides years of use while I have this projector.

I needed to be able to attach my iPod to my camera tripod. This is an excellent choice because it is high quality and inexpensive. It does the job and I would recommend it.
