A Game of the Original Series Fans.
I honestly cannot see why this game has such poor reviews. As a long time Godzilla fan this game is perfect for me. I should point out I have both the PS3 and 4 versions. The 4 version is infinitely superior. The evolution mode is much more advanced than PS3. The graphics are in HD Lots of playable monsters Many unlockable monsters Detailed kaiju guide You can have sounds through the controller. You can play online with random people or with friends to fight them. You can Invade and do much the "Go Ashore" gameplay with any monster you have unlocked only you don't collect data. Diarama mode is quite detailed You can choose to fight one monster after the other. This game isn't particularly short. If you do it incorrectly it will only allow you up to 6-8 stages inside of 10. The game basically cuts your playtime short for each time you fail a level e.g. you don't reach a certain height (100m minimum for the true final boss), level of destruction or collect enough data. Many monsters only appear under very specific requirements e.g. a very specific destruction percentage, from a specific stage and area, after a particular time has passed, how much data you have, etc. This makes the game quite challenging and you will likely not complete it in a day if you want to complete it. Some of the levels are very hard with a set time limit, 3 monsters/enemies attacking at once in a small area and the requirement to reach full destruction and collect all data. I wouldn't say it's a game for kids as it is long, can be challenging and it's violent. If you're into the new Godzilla 2014 and you're not so much interested in the old/original series' from Japan then you may not appreciate this game as much as there are a lot of nostalgic things such as Godzilla being able to jump the way he did in Invasion of the Astro Monster, Godzilla 1964 as an unlockable, many references to the old films and much original music. The game itself is amazing. Could it be better? possibly, but they have made it so there's something for just about any fan who wants to fight monsters, destroy cities, play online and face various challenges. It's highly addictive and will keep you busy for hours. This game has had me sweating and on the edge of my seat. Also, it arrived next day.

Could this be the worst PS4 game ever - YES!!!!!
Save your money, this game is complete and utter garbage. So dull, so slow and unplayable. Graphically it is the worst I've seen on PS4 - this is so bad it would be an embarrassment on a PS1. May as well throw £40 in the bin as that is what you will want to do with this game.

Good if you love the movies
I personally really enjoy this game, the graphics in my opinion are well presented and all the monsters looks just like they did in the movies. As far as gameplay it is very similar to previous Godzilla games, Basically if you liked Godzilla on the Sega Dreamcast and PS2 you will enjoy this updated version but obviously it's helps if you are a fan and know all the monsters from the movies.

Arrived with CEX sticker on but not advertised as used.
I was really looking forward to playing this game after paying nearly £35 for it. However when received it had a huge CEX sticker on it. And receipt stated used. Box had the DLC code inside (which is what I was looking forward to) however it had been used. When I purchased the game it stated nothing about it being a used copy. I would have looked past this if the dlc code worked but it had been used. The game itself is enjoyable fun but controls are fiddly to get used to. Unless you are a huge Godzilla fan like myself you won’t enjoy this game.

all the monsters are beautifully designed and sound just like they do from the ...
Disappointing for the casual gamer, but for die-hard fans of Toho Godzilla this is Essential Purchasing!! I have read so many negative reviews about this game, that I thought I should even things out a bit. First of all, let me breakdown the game: Gods of Destruction – As Godzilla, the goal of this game is to smash up generators (some timed) and collect all data collection points and to achieve 100% damage. Very simplistic but straight forward, this mode is quite enjoyable and you really do get a kick out of being Godzilla and being able to smash anything in sight. Depending on which area you choose, other Kaiju’s (monsters) will appear and challenge you, if you defeat them you unlock them basically. King of Monsters – Essentially a survival mode of sort, as Godzilla you take on the challenge of up to six different monsters, the quicker you defeat them, you unlock new content. The rest of the modes are about Godzilla’s evolution (upgrades and attacks) and for other monsters unlocked. I have always been a Godzilla fanatic and this game does it justice, all the monsters are beautifully designed and sound just like they do from the original Japanese Godzilla movies. For me it’s easily a four star game. Now as far as the negatives go, some reviewers have stated that the game is very repetitive, the graphics seem more suited for PS1/PS2 and that the game itself is very limited. I agree with all those points but I still get enjoyment out of the game so it really doesn’t bother me. So what stops this getting 5 stars? Well the only thing that agitated me about the game is the limited destruction you can cause; you have this orange zigzag line of sorts covering most of the cities, so you are only allocated to one specific area. So many games have that free roaming feature yet Godzilla feels so confined and limited, it can be annoying, Oh and as for which version is better, hands down the PS4 version is superior, not only does it give you more monsters, the gameplay is far smoother then the rushed PS3 edition.

Alright Game - Not For This Price
It's fun enough for a little while and the designs for the Kaiju are incredible, they really are. Beyond that the game has nothing going for it. It's dull, it's short, it's incredibly repetitive. If this was a £20 title I'd be much more forgiving but the amount of content here simply does not warrant a full price purchase.

A steal at the time.
I love this game. Good thing I picked it up before the Toho incident cracked up the price.

This game has become one of my all-time guilty pleasures. The only other Godzilla game I've played is Double Smash on the DS, and those graphics are TERRIBLE compared to this game. Your goal in this game is to either destroy the Generators, while wrecking Cities to farm G-Energy, to make your Kaiju Grow, and upgrade them, Or KO Enemy Kaiju while preventing cities from being destroyed.(aka: Maintaining City defense) There are a total of 22 Playable Kaiju in this game: Heisei Godzilla, Angurius, Mothra(Larva), Mothra(Adult), Rodan, Heisei King Ghidorah, Hedorah, Jet-Jaguar, Showa Mechagodzilla, Showa Mechagodzilla 2, Biollante, Mecha-King Ghidorah, Battra(Larva), Battra(Adult), Super Mechagodzilla, SpaceGodzilla, Destoroyah, Burning Godzilla, Type-3 Kiryu(aka: Mechagodzilla 3), Modified Gigan, Legendary Godzilla, and Godzilla(1964). It's an okay Roaster, but I feel there are quite a few missed opportunities, such as Fire Rodan, Baragon, M.O.G.E.R.A., Titanosaurus, King Cesar, and Megalon(Just to name a few) As for common complaints, I disagree about the graphics being bad, however, I do agree the controls are bad. It's hard for me to recommend this game, even to die-hard G-Fans such as myself, but overall, I had fun playing this game. I hope we get more Godzilla games like this, only with better controls.

Nice to see how Godzilla grows by consuming radiation. Fun to smash cities and fight Kaiju. Tied with Godzilla unleashed as best game ever.
