Lioncast Arcade Fighting Stick
I'm a very happy customer! The arcade stick was delivered earlier than predicted, it was well packaged and the arcade stick is of excellent quality. The arcade stick is of sturdy construction and functions incredibly well, my laptop picked it up immediately so there was no messing about with installing drivers or anything like that.I've had a quick blast on a few games and it brings back the nostalgia of time spent in arcades in the 90s. I was dubious initially, but the decision to purchase the Lioncast Arcade Fighting Stick proved to be the right choice for me, well worth the money in my opinion :-)

Get what you pay for, works a treat if you know how (PC)
I initially bought 2 of these for my MAME PC set up and sent them straight back. I was a tad hasty to be fair, and I quickly learned it’s important to do your research when purchasing something without a recommendation.Needless to say, I ordered another from Amazon Warehouse (saves another £3 odd) and I have subsequently ordered another one for some 2 player MAME action. The main issue? Windows sees the joystick as the ‘hat’ of the controller. Using the ‘Home’ and ‘Turbo’ buttons allows you to switch between normal joystick mode and ‘hat’. The best way to see this in action is using the Controllers app in Windows. This is also a handy way to understand the button mapping, which is a little bit odd in my opinion. I also made a plan of the stick with the button number mapping on a bit of paper For safekeeping. So, you wanna play MAME On your PC? You’ll find out if the box, it doesn’t work properly...but with a bit of effort you can get it working using a custom ctrlr cfg file: https://pastebin.com/J9hy8gGyUse the CFG file by setting it is the default control layout in your MAME.ini’s CTRLR section and BINGO - it works a treat. It’s really not a bad bit of kit for the cash. It’s no Hori but hey, Hori’s don’t cost £25...you can bash buttons all day long in this thing (try it with Killer Instinct) and still pull off combos with very little effort. Yes, it’s a bit clacky but it does the job and at this price, it’s a steal. If you’re prepared to muck about to get it working, go for it.Still don’t understand why the blue version is almost double the price though...

Looked promising
Delivery label was put on the box and didn't want to come off (I don't like this, why!)The product is a decent size and was relatively cheap in comparison to others, sadly it didn't work, the joystick would not function when selecting top left (diagonal), I have returned it.It is suitable for modding so I did contemplate holding onto it but the rubber feet were uneven so it wobbled on the desk so just decided to return it for a refund.

Very impressed for the price
I use this on my raspberry pi. It worked well buttons were easily customised. Only issue I had was the small top buttons don’t work with the pi. I’m sure it works for other gaming formats but not the raspberry pi a little disappointing but with 8 buttons I used them instead. Very good value for money. Nice and chunky. feels better quality than the price. I would recommend this and would buy another one. The buttons feel like PlayStation buttons not the micro clicky switches of an arcade unit.

Overall looks good but this one was faulty
Good value for money but unfortunately one I received was faulty from day 1, the lever up direction has got mind of it’s own. The build is good and buttons seem to work fine. The cable length is generous. If you own a mayflash or a mid range or high end stick then of course you will not like this one as it’s for people who are switching over from joypads to arcade sticks. All in all I would have been happy if the stick worked fine, for the price I paid.

Cheap but not chearful
On opening this arcade stick and looking at the internals, I was expecting this to be fully moddable. Unfortunately, it has membrane circuitry which renders that pretty much a task not worth pursuing as the cost of replacing everything inside would equate to buying a more expensive arcade stick in the first place! Modding this would be like modding a lawnmower to be an arcade stick- you can do it but what is the point! So that then leaves us with a stock arcade stick with a membrane (spongy and loud clanging hollow) action buttons, which are as accurate as scud missiles! The joystick control though is actually is pretty good and is responsive, apart of the sheath that covers the joystick hole which is annoying and gets in the way of things when playing. The layout of the buttons is placed too low on the surface panel leaving little room to rest your palms on. Not great for prolonged usage. The surface itself is slippy and your hands just drift off the thing with ease (no need for WD40 help here!). The arcade stick housing itself is low profile and rather pleasing to the eye (it comes in 2 colors, blue and burgundy). The Stick was easily recognized on Windows 10 and a supplied disk with drivers will allow working on older operating systems too. The cable supplied will also connect to PS2 and PS3 game consoles.Overall then the question has to be asked - who is this stick geared towards? Is it beginners? Well, the annoying clanging for the hollow sounds of button bashing means you need a lot of paracetamols (expect headaches). The stick is not easily moddable (you need to replace nearly everything inside). Even if you modded it, the placement of the buttons (buttonholes) means that you are not going to have much space to rest your palm (unless you have tiny hands, like Donald Trump)Conclusion - buy something that has mechanical switches, is actually moddable, has plenty of palm resting space, and does not sound like you are banging drums (its flipping loud this thing!).
