Despite a lot of negative reviews, I found these great, with some small tweaks.1) These need to go into a stud. If you’re mounting something that requires a bracket that can support 120lb, you can’t put these in drywall.2) I remove the plastic sheath and washer from the part that goes into the stud. It exposes a threaded metal rod. This can be screwed into the stud. Use a 1/4” drill bit to drill the hole into the stud, and the metal rod threads into it perfectly. If you take the bracket and attach it to your drill, your drill will screw it in easily. It also makes it easy to remove again should you need to.3) Use a 3/8” drill bit and a self-centering dowel jig for drilling the hole in the object being mounted to the wall.

Garbage for the application I needed and no instructions provided at all! The part that went into the wall just spun around and around. I need to jam something in the hole to stop it from spinning despite the fit being tight enough requiring a hammer to set it in the wall. Then the stability that was provided by the internal mechanism being compressed was much less that satisfactory! Very disappointed! I carefully and cautiously extracted the one from the wall and they were all returned!

I rarely review products, and even more rarely provide negative feedback but I DO NOT recommend purchasing this product. Although it does an adequate job anchoring to a stud, it is utterly useless for a drywall/plaster wall. There are essentially no instructions, which normally is not an issue for me as I am a tradesperson), but in this case maybe they should be included... Even the drill bit size would have been useful information. I imagine it would anchor in concrete adequately as well but for both wood and concrete applications there are better options available. This product should be removed from Amazon to stop others from wasting their time and money.

Para la instalación se batalla un poco, ya que no hay brocas de la medida para pared (7/16), perfore con 5/16 y quedó chico el hoyo, y otra la perforé con 1/2 y quedó con juego. Fuera de eso ayudan a dar esa sensación de que la repisa flota. No aguantan mucho peso si no se perfora adecuadamente la pared

I should have read the reviews before purchasing this. The pics and information provided are very misleading. The plastic sleeve that is suppose to go into the wall does not expand at all. The complete cylinder twists as your are screwing it in. Very bad design. I am Surprised Amazon is still marketing it and that might be because people like me are throwing money at it. Only way this is going to work is in a stud. The Molly hook suggestion provided might work but good luck finding one that will accommodate a metric size bolt.
