Seagate Skyhawk 4TB Video Internal Hard Drive HDD – 3.5 Inch SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache for DVR NVR Security Camera System with Drive Health Management and in-House Rescue Services (ST4000VXZ16/016)

My last Segate lasted over 7 years running 24/7/365. So far it has been a year and there have been zero issues and it is very quiet in my NVR. Worth spending a little extra now to prevent less heartache later on with a bad hard drive.

Works perfect

I thought this dive was dead out of the box as it would not spin-up. Latest ssd specification assigns pin#3 on the power connector for spin control which was previously 3.3V. So if you install any new ssd on an older system it will never spin-up. The most common fix it to put tape over pin 3, or just cut the orange 3.3V wire to the power plug. I nearly returned the drive as dead when nothing was wrong with it. Now it is works perfectly. There should be an application note about this included in the box.

Purchased to replace the old video 2TB HDD for a video 6TB HDD to gain more storage space on the NVR. Was easy to install and setup initially and all connections were easy to identify. Everything was working great as I had data from August 13, 2025, to October 4, 2025, but the new 6TB HDD only lasted 2 months and then would not read or write data. I tried to recover the data from the HDD but it will not even load when plugged into my PC.

Worked as expected in my Reolink NVR camera system in order to increase the video storage capacity. The price is reasonable for the amount of storage. It has lasted about 6 months now with no issue and no loss of video data.

Love this drive. Quiet and great for archiving files as well as videoing. Not recommended for main drive in computers

You can't go wrong with Seagate!

It arrived quickly and was very easy to install. It was replacing a hard drive in a DVR for my security system. So far so good.

I needed to purchase a new hard drive for my security surveillance system, and the Seagate Skyhawk is highly recommended for this purpose. This arrived relatively quickly as there was a long wait time for the WD Purple which is also highly recommended for security surveillance. The 4TB is a big upgrade for my Lorex system and it has performed flawlessly so far and much quieter than the old drive it replaced. Drive came packaged properly and securely, brand new for sure, and fit perfectly.

All good except 1 issue the drive is not that fast it is quite slow. took like 6-8 hours to make a back up of 800 gigabytes. I guess 100 gigabyte of data per hour.

Diciamo pure che l'ho comprato proprio perchè venduto e spedito da Amazon. E, non secondariamente, la qualità del prodotto è nota e riconosciuta. Per qualche euro di più rispetto a un venditore del Market Place, onestamente, ho imparato la lezione
